ok well here is an easy way to find Top dead center 1. Take No. 1 spark plug out 2. turn engine over untill the piston is all the way at the top ( you might need something to poke into the bore, But be carful not to get it stuck!) 3. re mark were the TDC point is at 4. Replace Spark plug and then try timing the engine :)

Hi guys, Ive got a Toy Corona that ive been working on.. ive just over hauld the engine after a head gasket blew out on it... So i was wondering if any one has the Static timing for my 1S-jlu type engine? It would be awsome as is some one did.... At the moment Ive just set the timing to 10 degrees BTDC but it doesnt really like going anywere fast with that setting... ( kinda wants to die before accelerates ).. Anyways.. everything bar the C-injection hasnt been tampered with ( the injectors are set properly now ) so if anyone knows why this maybe , and or has the Static timing for this engine it would be great to hear from ya Thanks
