  1. Haha. Its all over the shop, reaches 10.5 when in traffic. The noise is still there, i wonder if the rest of the engine is just so quiet i can here something thats normal drowned out!! It appears at qiute specific time as i said above. I tried the old trick of unplugging battery to "reset" the ECU, always skeptical on it. Car performed amazingly and the noise went away, then after the weekend was over and i started my day to day bumper to bumper driving it all went to hell :p
  2. Hmm yeah. Its just weird, as i said im no idiot when it comes to cars and it just seems like it should be making that noise. I filled it with BP ultimate today and the fuel econ has gotten much worse, its at 9.5L at the moment, now i do some city driving so i know its gonna be higher than stated figures, but its gone up heaps since i got it. To me the oil just seems very light when you pull thge dipstick out, and when i took the oil cap off the engine it hardly looked like it was dry. But hey, im no expert.
  3. Hi All, Just got a new Levin ZR CVT, and there seems to be an audible ticking noise at low rev idle. Once the car is warm and idling at about 700rpm you can hear it quite easily, and also when you accelerate the noise speeds up with your revs. Anyone had any issues like that? Im not mechanic but when you take the engine cover off there is a lot of noise coming from the injector area. I know the injectors making clicking noise but this seems excessive.....
  4. Yeah i was trying to avoid that cause i dont really have time.....Guess i will have to. I had a look last night, its not mechanical to do with the clutch or gearbox. When you press the pedal there is just something with either the pedal not being lubricated or soemthing going on behind the firewall i cant see
  5. Hi all, Long time no post! Recently had my car in for its 30k serivce. I have a job in the city now so im in peak hour traffic a lot, clutching the whole way ^_^ After a driving a while, ever time i depress the clutch i get a moaning/croaking like a frog, when i let it back up i get the same noise and i can feel tapping in my foot. What the? Even sitting at the lights if i push the clutch in and out i can hear it, also when the car is off! Does anybody have any ideas what it could be........ Im going to call the dealer back today to get them to have a look but im interested to hear some opinions. Cheers guys!
  6. These look pretty good. I wonder how you fasten them on though, when i got a quote from toyota for the skirts plus all the attachment screws, it was just over $900 all up :s
  7. Yep and it's about $500 Where can you pick it up from? I love it! Im also liking the suede finish on the top glove box and cluster
  8. Hey guys sorry i havent been to any of the meets yet my scheduele is all over the place with casual work and i do most my work on the weekend...Still wanna catch up one day to meet you all and check out your rides!
  9. Well thanks for the advice guys. Youve all been a great help. Ill be getting a cusco rear sway and front strut once i come back from my overseas trip, heading off tomorow night and will be returning in 2 weeks, after that, time to have some fun :P Sadly johnnie i dont have access to vinhs ZRE shop :P I always thought the ZRE seemed to handle alright, guess theres much room for improvement!
  10. Aww what a bargain! I just got a quote the other day for these, $798 for both sides and all the parts....
  11. Hey Davvy, Funny you should ask this question, ive just been doing a lot of research in getting one of these headunits for my ZRE 2010 corolla! And as devza121 said, the unit isnt cheap :( Its around $880 all up when you purchase this item genuine from a dealer. There is a few different colours of the unit, silver, grey and black and it comes in both green and orange illumination. If you were to look on ebay there is always a few of these headunits up for sale, but i was really hesitant to buy one of them, for one they couldnt tell me what colour the backlight was (i wanted orange to match my car) and secondly whenever i asked about security pin codes for the unit, i kept getting really dodgy answers. Because if you buy one and its stolen and when you plug it in it asks for a pin, then your stuffed. I heard rumors you could buy the pins from toyota, but i didnt want to risk it.
  12. That one looks alright :o Well I went to Toyota today, $340 for the camera and wiring loom, $200 to install. That's after i have to get headunit... There's a few of the headunits but I don't know if it's the colour for the corolla, the guy stopped replying to my questions, think it's stolen lol
  13. Haha as far as aftermarket headunit goes, I'm more of a stock appreciator :P I'm the kinda person who like cars that are stock looking. I could get a aftermarket camera I suppose. Nuts to that though, I read through a few threads of reversing camera topics and people were talking bout it being a pain in butt, wasn't to sure if it was same in newer ZRE.
  14. Quick question, looking at upgrading my headunit on my 2010 ZRE152 with another genuine toyota unit and getting the toyota reversing camera, is the loom already in place for the reversing camera or will i have to do the wiring? Thanks!
  15. Sweet that answers it then. Cusco rear sway and front strut here i come! Best place to buy? I found greenline.jp had them both, rhdjapan didnt have both of them stocked, id rather get them all in one go if i could. Anywhere in australia?
  16. Well now im not to sure on the whole issue haha! i was just going to get the cusco rear sway and an engine strut.....im just a casual street driver not wanting to take car on track at all, i thought about sway bars and such because i thought it would improve the handling on the road, i dont really want to make the car understeer/oversteer more haha! I could just be over thinking it, because i dont understand any of this (hence why i asked) i am at your mercy!
  17. Sad :( BUT! i bet the person walked away just fine thanks to the awesome safety in the corolla
  18. I think im leaning toward the cusco front strut and cusco rear sway. (edit: no pun intended) Thanks for explaining that flipsta24. So if i was to get the front strut the Cusco list for the Auris it should fit still? Cause i can pick it up in Hong Kong for $170 AUD and i can box it up and put it in the hold and fly it home with me...Cant get the model number you list for the strut as it doesnt suit any cars they have in HK, so they dont stock it.
  19. The reason im asking is im going back to hong kong in 2 weeks and i found a car parts store where the locals do up their cars and they have a lot of Cusco stock :P They have the front strut listed under Auris on the cusco site as i said, but it seems to be different to what part number ill need....
  20. Sorry to ask stupid questions, this is all way above my head to be honest. Ive never dealt with these sorts of parts. Im looking at the Cusco parts listing, the model number you listed fir the front strut comes up under Corolla Rumion? I would have thought it would be the model listed under Auris? http://www.cusco.co.jp/products/pdf/P276-281.pdf Also i cant find the rear sway on their list: http://www.cusco.co.jp/products/pdf/P114-116.pdf Nengen also list a different part number for ZRE152 rear sway and the Tom's site has a different number for the front strut.....im getting confused :(
  21. Im only talking street application for now. It may seem silly to do when im not using on track, but its just something fun to do hehe. So cusco sounds like its the go, that way i can get front strut and rear sway both cusco. Does anybody happen to know the model numbers? Im going to have a bit of a browse now at cusco
  22. Ive been browsing past topics guys and seems the opinions are varied, i just got my 2010 ZRE152R Corolla and i was looking at fitting a rear sway bar to the car, most likely the TRD option: http://www.rhdjapan.com/trd-rear-stabilizer-sway-bar-corolla-52087 It says its compatible with ZZE corollas, is there one that fits mine? And finally, should i be running something on the front end to compliment it? Some people are telling me to get a front sway bar, but i cant find a TRD produced one, would it be ok to fit another brand with a TRD on the rear? Im not looking to upgrade the suspension or anything like that, i want to keep the car looking stock for a bit first, i appreciate stock :P But i was looking for some upgrades to do that will make a difference with a stock look....if that makes sense :P
  23. Nice car Arc! New tyres? You dont like the Kappa? I was going to say i like the kappa's haha was thinking of getting some myself so was good to see a pic of them on a ZRE
  24. I found when i got my new ZRE152R the idle was fairly "high" for my liking, i figured it was just cause i was used to older more run in car idling at around 500-600. But it does tend to jump around a lot when im driving...
