  2. whoops, Sorry yes you are right, i just saw that in my manual. I meant to say 3.5 in my first post. Ive heard that its better for your engine if you dont have enough oil but it is bad if you have too much oil in your engine? Are these people just tripping or what? Thanks for that help marcus
  3. ****. Are you sure? Ive looked twice through my manual and it doesnt say how much oil i should use....
  4. Hey, Just changed my oil and oil filter today (10000km). Firstly, i changed over to synthetic oil (caltex brand) and i was wondering if compared to mineral based oil if there was a difference in how much i should be using? At my 5000km oil change, i put in 2.5L of oil and that was about the middle of the two indicaters. Now however, i put in 2.5L of synthetic and i get a really low reading of oil.. Is this normal? Should i be putting more oil in than average beacause its synthetic? How much oil are you guys putting in your engines? ANybody got any good tips for removing the oil filter so its easier next time? Thanks
  5. its a sportivo part... chaeck toyota.com.au :) ← here is the address for sportivo accessories for both the sportivo and the 1zzfe hatch. Im pretty sure everything there can be used by both cars. http://corolla.toyota.com.au/Corolla04/Por...298-185,00.html Can you just confirm where to actually buy the parts from? I would rather buy online but if i cant can i just go to any toyota parts dealer and ask for <insert part here> without knowing the part number?
  6. Looking good. THat carbon stuff surrounding the number plate, any closer shots? Where can i get this from?
  7. isn't that the jracing front bar rear skirt and wing sold as a kit: http://www.jracing.com.au/product.php?pid=21 Better still, that must be the first car to get the kit cos jracing use it on their site to demo.
  8. Lamborghini Diablo Candy Pearl Orange Paint as seen on the Fast and furious Toyota Supra: Would look very nice expecially when shined up. better quality pic here http://www.us-car-history.de/filmautos/fas...suprafandf1.jpg
  9. nah id rather not make an overseas phone call.
  10. I personally think that trdsales is expensive and the service absolutely fu(king shocking. I know a lot of people here have dealt with the site before and based on there recomendations, i went and had a look at the parts and tried to get some info. However i sent an email a while ago asking basic questions and they just ignored me. Plus i dont have a credit card either so thats a problem. The CAI on TRD sales is going for 480 + 40 shipping to Australia. That means that i would have to wait for it to arrive and that kinda sucks. ALso i saw an ad in some fast fours/car magazine showing that penrith toyota is selling them for $495. Personally, i would rather drive out to penrith and buy it over the counter than spend money on an internet site where the guy doesnt even reply his emails and then wait in hope for a few days/weeks for the item to arrive... My 2 cents. Also For mods you should just take your time and do one thing at a time, dont rush it and enjoy the feeling you get after installing a new mod, that way you can truly appreciate the improvements... Thats what i would do anyway (since i have no money and have to wait long periods :) ) ps. Here is penrith toyota site: http://www.penrithtoyota.com.au/index2.htm
  11. Hi. Today i took off the intake snorkel from the end of the airbox and left the hole open so the air is no sucked straight into the airbox. I thought that the removal of this snorkel would give me more torque as the air doesnt have to travel so far. What i want to know is will the removl of this snorkel affect my engine in any bad way? The chances of water getting into the engine are extremely low right? After taking it off, i notice a nice raspy meanish sound as i get to 3000 revs and when touching the throttle at high speeds i can hear a wooshing sound from the bay. I'm also running a K&N flat panel filter and ive scraped out the mesh grille from the plastic tube inside the airbox... One lst thing, im looking at the snorkel now and its extremely restrictive in terms of airflow... It looks okay when in the engine bay but at the bottom end where after it opens out to drain water, the tubing gets really skinny. There is also a 15cm section where the plastic has been replaced with metal mesh and wrapped in rope then covered in plastic. Does anybody know what this is for? Sound deadening? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

  17. Cant you just use zip ties? That way you can remove it/replace it whenever: http://www.2003corolla.org/diy.php?diy=13 ?
  18. Is 82 KW @ wheels the sort of power i can be expecting from my 1zzfe? Cos your power figures are quite impressive. I was sorta under the impression that stock would only net me about 72-75 kw...
  19. Mind if i ask how much you got it from and where you got it from? Thanks
  20. Can i ask what's wrong with using heel and toe and skipping a gear? Ive gone from 4th to 2nd a few times when turning sharply at a certain intersection i drive through every morning...
  21. i thought that at first, but then i used my nail and it came off the easiest of them all, maybe our cars are different, you have the face-lifted corolla right?
  22. how does it look without the side mouldings? A bit weird? I was contemplating ripping them off too but i thought there might be some holes left behind. P.S. When badging, dont do what i did. I did mine spur of the moment and almost ripped my fingernails off... Still, it looks good on a black car without the busy badges at the back... On the 1zz which i assume you have from your other posts you can also remove the "seca" stickers quite easily from the boot thingy,
  23. ... what do sportivo pedals look like? Are they the ones with the holes in em? i didnt realised you had to remove entire existing pedals, the only experience ive had with pedals are the slip on ones which bolt on to the existing pedals, but i heard they are illegal
  24. I have heard that carmate makes a lot of copied stuff, i would assum that the stuff they make is cheaper? Is the quality really ****house or is it of acceptable use?
