  1. We have owned our 2011 kxr - awd from new. Didn't do many k's but followed the scheduled toyota capped services until the first major. At that time or car was on 28 or 32K for a 40K service I think. I decided on just a general service and they would have a quick look at the rest and use their judgement, as we were considering selling and then would have had the major done for peace of mind. Have never had an issue which wasn't WAF related. For instance, she would sit with the engine running, talking to mums with her foot on the brake and in drive. One of the computers detects this after a certain time that there is a failure and stops the engine with lots of lights on the dashboard lighting up. Senior tech at Toyota HQ explained how the system worked, so told the missus to pit it in park + hb. Has run prem 98 for its life. Has done a little towing for work for me before I got my triton and when I blew something up in the triton. I try and open her up as often as I can - which isn't often and it performs like the day we bought it. Now the Kluger is 7 yrs in November and is on 53K and still hasn't had a full major service and I am considering combining two. Consider that the Kluger will be kept, at what age/km is the timing belt/chain due to go or other known faults so I can plan for a overhaul at 60K :)
  2. If you want anything decent it has to have DAB radio and good USB / BT compatability - I am planning on getting one installed (I would do it myself - I have a double din kenwood deck, 2 amps, 2 bazooka subs (minus middle seatbelt) in my wifes 2011 kxr awd. You could easily get 6/9's in the rear or small 6/10 sub's, then mids in the middle, and splits up front - 2 amps + installation would take a day, though I would expect 5 hours max unless they need to fab something.
  3. Just hopped in my 2011 kx-r awd 7 seater to find the power steering dead with a warning light on dash and warning on the LCD telling me to contact dealer immediately. The vehicle is 2 yrs old, 16000 or less km's on it and just had a major service last month - all via their mobile mechanic. No noise or feeling previously of any issue with the vehicle before this. Will be on the blower first thing in the morning. Our last "new car" was a lemon and if Toyota think I am going to cop anything then they better look out..... it will be WAR!!
  4. I assume it's due to the low rate finance ? capped servicing for 3 yrs and 6 yrs warranty offered ?
  5. Just ordered a Kluger 2011 KX-R 7 seater. Tossing up between the 2wd and AWD. Currently quoted with 3.9% finance the 2wd model with the following accessories nudge bar bull bar side steps front weather shields tint bonnet and headlight protecters sport seat covers front only display audio upgrade on road costs 2500 trade in holden vectra 2001 all for 50560 drive away. Finance approved signing tomorrow night. Will be pushing for fuel, car mats and mud flaps as freebies. We have a 2 near teen kids and 2 young ones in child seats. Is it worth upgrading to the AWD KX-R, I know it isn't a 4WD but good enough for offroad tracks and eaches etc ? White preferred colour Toyotaways dealership Rockingham Is it worthwhile spending another 5K for the AWD
