  1. Did u block off all the required vacuum hoses ? If there is any

I blocked all the necessary hoses off. As I said, it works fine when im in gear, but if i switch out of gear into neutral the engine stays running, then after 5-15 seconds it just gives me a CEL and switches the car off.

im still a newbie with terminology......what does CEL stand for?

    check engine light

  3. Hi guys,

Ive got a practically brand new Injen pod Filter for sale (only used when I tested my CAI to see if it worked for like 25-30minutes).

Also, i have a ITG foam filter that im selling, its been washed and sprayed, in excellent condition (cost me $200 brand new), so its ready to jump on an intake.

    ITG foam filter- $50

    Injen Pod Filter- $50.

Pm me for pictures since I haven't figured out how to post pics.

Willing to post at buyers expense.

  4. sorry to hi jack thread, but whilst we're on the topic of injen CAI i thought id continue in this post. I installed mine this evening, and i noticed that when i let it roll in neutral down hill, it gives me a CEL and also switches the car off. Any of the gurus care to elaborate why it does this, and also what can be done to fix it other than not rolling down hill in neutral?

    Thanks.

  5. make SURE you see the mechanic drop the gear box oil. i'm sure it would have turned out a very watery consistency instead of normal oil where its thicker. my cars travelled 140k and i change the oil every 50k. i use castrol syntrax full synthetic 75W90 with a nulon G70 125ml additive. ever since then i used it, i rarely crunch the gears unless i get lazy :P

the above oils mentioned do better when u have worn synchros. change to those or stop driving hard

clutch will need adjustment, get a mechanic to do it so it gets done properly.

    Thanks for that Kenshin :D

as you posted that i was already watching your DIY guide to changing the gearbox oil :P

what happens if you put too much oil into the gearbox and also what does the additive do? will this make shifting alot smoother? :D

wont make the shifting smoother if the syncros are worn, get the castrol vmx80 since it doesnt cost an arm and a leg like the mt90, or if you can afford it get the redline. If your in sydney and want a mechanic thats done a gearbox oil change and a clutch adjustment let me know.

  6. Installed Camcon CC-101 today now for some tuning.

$305 is an awesome buy. The cheapest I found online was $400 not including delivery. To be honest, even if it only manages to squeeze out an extra 5 kw its a good buy considering the price. Also, if it makes the car more economical then its a bonus there. Make sure you post up some dyno graphs.

  7. Hi guys,

I need to locate the following pins on a 2005 jdm ecu for a 2zz.

Ignition/power (this one should not be hard)

    Rpm signal +

    Rpm signal -

    Vvti signal

    A/F Signal

Hoping someone has a pinout diagram or a way of identifing them, I have found various diagrams on the web all different tho :(

    Cheers

Xoom posted an ECU pinout a few years back, its floating around somewhere on here. I think its also got an excel document attached to it which shows where everything is.

  8. spotted xoom today on epping road in north ryde. Fix those mirrors!!!

LOL ..... the chrome dome too much for u ..... lol .... yeah i been meaning to but wat do u do .... no time for it ..... was this at the lights getting onto lane cove rd ?

it was just as you pasted under the victoria road overpass that epping road is under, about 70m before top ryde shopping centre.

  9. fuel consumption at first was ridiculous, i was getting 300-350km to the tank for about the first 2-3 fill ups, then eventually it got back to normal at about 650-700km to the tank. I used it as my daily and still do. Just dont over take any cars off a set of traffic lights in from the left hand lane if you dont have much room to work with. You wont feel much different, itll just feel like driving a ZRE below 3000rpm, then after that it will go back to normal. I wonder if the camcon can do anything about it.
