  1. Look here : ZZE122/3 Foglight wiring etc thanx, but the link does not seem to be working. i brought the set including wiring from SSS in melb, they said it was pretty much plug n play but i still want to be sure before i short everything Funny that I bought it from King Wreck in Sydney who told me to go pick it up from SSS in Sydney... And I can guarantee you it's not a direct fit (the brand is Esuse or something like that isn't it) 1. The mounting brackets are different (and one of mine given was snapped off) 2. The plugs tucked in the bumper from Toyota don't fit. 3. The relay doesn't fit So it's gonna take a bit of DIY power ie getting wires through the firewall and accross the dashboard, buying a new relay, wiring to the battery, wiring down to the bumper, modifying existing bracket equipment given etc. Works well after a days work plus some new electrical equipment though (touch wood).
  2. Thanks everyone for your replies I think she is going to have to take it to a service department. It happens whether the car is warmed up or cold, its a real pain in the a.r.s.e!
  3. I don't know about yours but the wiring for the ones I bought did not match the toyota wiring and my uncle (a sparky) had to rewire it all. Can't really tell you the details because he did all the technical work. But when installing have an electrician handy, plus electrical equipment (including wiring, new electrical relay etc.) and allow a day to do it.
  4. Search for a post in a similar thread a while back from me... Or to sum it up in two words: Head-aches!
  5. Hi everyone My mums 06 corolla is having (and has had since purchase) problems with shifting between gears (it's auto). When driving it will pretty much stay in 3rd until it randomly (and rarely) decides to go into 4th for e.g. if you are driving down a hill (foot either gently on the accelerator or off) it will just keep revving out in 3rd (around like 3-4000 rpm) instead of shifting to 4th like my 03 corolla does (and no the overdrive is not turned off (as this was the 1st thing I checked)). Any suggestions?
  6. My Dad has the dual cab 4wd 3.0L Diesel Hiluxx (not SR5) with the aftermarket 115L ARB tank, a snorkel, steel ARB bullbar (with foggies), canopy, dual battery kit, aluminium side skirts, rear steel tow bar (just to demonstrate the weight factor) He reckons the best he has done is 1050KM and his average is somewhere between 8.5-9.0KM per L... Although my dad drives it like an old man Yours is roughly 6.0KM per L which is not too good, what sought of driving do you do and is there anything very heavy on their e.g. a winch? alloy bull bar and spotties side steps canopy tray liner h/d tow bar CB radio LOL And I can drive it really gentle but it doesn't seem to make any difference. turbo conversion is coming real soon me thinks with a dyno tune.... Nah nothing really stands out there as particularly heavy, she might just need a good tune!
  7. Or you can do what I did and buy eyelids then use them as a template (mask around them) to paint eyelids on your headlight protectors ;) (actually I didn't do it but got a smash repairer to)

  9. And your doing all this to the 2.7L... This is just my opinion but that engine wasn't designed for up high power it's torquey down low n thats about it, so by throwing a turbo in you'll be going to be working against the grain of the engine. If this was me, a more sensible way to spend my money would be to throw in a 3VZ-FE or 5VZ-FE (or I would have bought the 01-04 SR5 models which had 5VZ-FE's stock). This is because the VZ series engines are all pretty over built for their appications (with strong internals that can easily handle high power forced induction). But I understand it's all up to personal preference and you probably want to be unique. O well I guess ur only option now is to prove me wrong! :P Good luck with the project anyways SB I love my luxy's Mate this is going on a 3.0 diesel!! Didn't want a petrol as i am going to need serious low down torque for towing as well as some decent economy!! I apologise and retract all previous statements!!! My Dads got this Hilux (although not SR5), and yeah it REALLY needs a turbo (but he wont get one <_< ) If you were in Sydney I would have recommended Berrima Diesel for the turbo job... but you live in Qld hey You going to be 4wd'ing with it? If so Cape York trip is VERY HIGHLY recommended ;) Make sure you keep us updated on this project!
  10. On 93 Lux thats not really a huge task (seeing as its live axle front and back) just some new leafies and shocks should do it (as well as all the little bits to go with it) Yeah can't remember brands but try Old Man Emu (avail. at ARB), and the TJM brand ones maybe?

  12. LOL you can tell it's a corolla... understeers like a mofo
  13. Mate FYI, the 3ZZ-FE is a 1.6L engine found in Corolla's overseas (more strongly related to a 1ZZ-FE due to sharing the same bore)
  14. Ooo-Riiite Quag-mire Giggidity giggidity LOL thats one funny show
  15. I just saw this now... Thanks heaps dude it was a good day yesterday! ;) :D Yeah damn uni exams are approaching fast (as well as work getting busier and busier) How is uni and everything going for yourself? (I'm pretty sure you're at uni as well, correct?)
  16. Hey dude welcome! If you are right into Vtec and the way it delivers its power u should consider a later model Celica with 2ZZ-GE engine which is equipped with VVTLi iVtec's equivalent (boasts 141KW at the fly wheel). But if u really wanna talk/torque power (mind the pun :P ) find one of the rare GT-Four ST205 Celica's (the model u r lookin at with a 3S-GTE engine (arguably one of the best 4-cylinder engines out there with equivalent strength to a Nissan FJ20 block and all the technology of a later model Nissan SR20 head))
  17. So sorry to hear about that dude. If u post pictures on here, the vultures (including myself :P ) may be interested in some of ur parts! Hint hint do u hav facelift tail lights still in good nick?

    R.

I double dare you to throw an F20C in there :P lol Nice car Brian I like your taste (although it is the competition ) Just joking
  19. O btw I wouldnt mind having a modded F20C or F22C1 in 99 coupe civic now they would decimate
  20. Also you are al forgetting aerodynamics... the Corolla's are shaped like a big bubble/egg and stick up high (even when lowered) so of course it's going to be disadvantaged compared to the low stance of a civic on the drag strip. I jump into my sisters 99 Pulsar with a GA-16 engine (very underpowered) and I think I can probably beat my 2003 1ZZ Corolla which has a much better engine just because of the build of the car (in terms of budy suspension etc)
  21. Sorry mate, it's my bad I should have got the story straight. Jared EDIT: And sorry for the tangent guys :P
  22. yes...i agree wit ya mate...i wanna do that but its better to wait when my bodykit comes and i'll paint them as well.today i just painted the grille and the trunk door mould..so only left the door handles and the side doors mould has to go!will post more pics! Look forward to seeing the pics ;)
  23. Enjoy your holiday Come on Northy I understand the history with this guy (he has been pretty crude and rude in the past) but this time he made a simple, formulated (and quite polite) argument which is up to us whether we believe or not. If he started jumping up and down saying "F'ing this n F'ing that" about CES it would b fair enough to give him a posting ban but seeing as he did not do that I believe he is entitled to freedom of speech n to let everyone know about his experience. NOTE: This post in no way either credits or discredits CES as I have had no experience with them to date, this is simply an objective comment stating what I have observed.
