  1. Conversion harness it is. Is boomslang the only place to get them from these days unless someone is selling it second hand?
  2. Hey guys, For those of you running pfc's or know about them. Is it ok to plug it in with the harness and start the car without a tune. Or is it necessary to just let the tuning company to do it all?
  3. Cleaning the ISCV (same thing as IACV) does make all the difference in the world. I had the same sort of problem and it was resolved with cleaning of this valve. Mine ended up being faulty and had to replace it but the clean did make it better for a period of time.
  4. Hey guys, For those of you with an Apexi Power FC are you running it as a stand alone ECU or as a piggy back? After talking to someone the other day i was told you can run them as a standalone and everything works fine but from my knowledge most people run them as a piggyback. Just curious as to what everyone has done/ the reasons behind piggybacking if it can work as a standalone? Sam
  5. I now have a Power FC but still chasing a harness as im not too keen on producing my own.
  6. Not too sure if this link will work as I'm on my phone. But check out this fb group https://m.facebook.com/?refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F&_rdr#!/groups/4476474348?ref=bookmark&__user=590276382 there has been two for sale in the past 2 months and I know a guy is pretty keen on selling his sometime soon. There are websites for brand new units such as monkey wrench but they are selling for $1200 new. Plus postage and then like previously stated you'll need a harness and a tune. There are harnesses on another website for $450 from the states but it to sure if they will work correctly for our cars. There is a guy on this forum that sent them a wiring diagram and they said it was the same. So he's just waiting for it to be posted and will test it out. All this information is for the power FC by the way. I should've mentioned that in the post sorry
  7. Haha yea. Would love a turbo car but insurance would be a bit insane at my age (20 going on 21). I just wanna have some fun with my corolla. It does have a bit of potential as a na and considering its a 1.8 amazing on fuel for the power. I will be keeping it until I finish uni and have secured a job in what I want. So possibly 2-3 years. Yea I realised the head has to come off but have been assured its something I could accomplish :p is there much that could go wrong in changing the valves and springs or just it's a big job? Is changing the oil pump a tough job? Cheers for the words of advice
  8. If you mean you need new floor mats then try http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&rt=nc&_nkw=Genuine+Floor+mats+corolla. Just be careful to select the right model. If you mean the actual carpet then I'm not to sure.
  9. I had an issue similar to this. Ended up being my ISCV. Wish it was just as simple as cleaning my MAF haha.
  10. Hey guys, Been thinking long and hard about cars and have decided that whilst I'm at uni I will just keep my sportivo and have a bit of fun with her. I have had the idea of installing a Power FC and upgrading the valve springs and valves themselves. Along with this I would upgrade my gearbox to fix the issues I have with second gear, and whilst doing this install an LSD and possibly a lightweight flywheel. (Bit unsure about the necessity of a flywheel.) One question I have is are the vavles and valve springs going to benefit the engine in allowing it to rev out a bit further than the current redline and is there anything I am missing that would help the engine better cope with a new ECU and revving out further?? I already have upgraded brakes, coilovers and about to purchase some federal rsr's to try them out. Have been planning this for a long time but now I am finally serious about doing this. I have a lot to learn about cars but I am more than willing considering it is something I enjoy. Any advice on people to talk to, places to go, websites to visit for bits and pieces along with advice would be appreciated. Thanks for reading :)
  11. Yea i know its going to be tough but i have got time. Had my chance to buy one a few weeks ago but uni prevented me from getting the cash across before someone else. I understand that all cars have slight tuning differences but it saves a hell of a lot of time and effort not to mention money if its almost right. Its a 2zz engine. Hoping to get a harness with it aswell. More just trying to get the word out there that im looking so if someone eventualy wants to sell they might contact me before they announce a sale. Long shot but thought i'd give it a go
  12. Chasing after an Apexi Power FC that has already been tuned and works without fault.
  13. Looking for a set (Left and Right) of headlights for an 05 corolla sportivo. Want to do a retrofit but as i dont have to time to do it all in a weekend i need another set.
  14. Hey mate, I have the rear super low king springs (used) for a 50mm drop. If interested pm me and i can upload a photo and sort something out.
  15. Thanks guys, I know about the pretensioner in the b pillar just wasnt sure if there was an explosive pretensioner on the buckle side for when in an accident and it sets off along with the airbags to tighten the seat beat as much as it can to hold you in better. I'm glad it doesnt though. Can you recommend anyone in Brisbane? Also found out that no Bride seats are ADR approved so even with a mod plate doesnt that technically still make them illegal?
  16. Thanks SuperDave, Just checking because with my last car it had an explosive pretensioner on it and it was a b**** to change over without killing somone.
  17. When installing new seats is there a seat belt pretensioner on the "female" part of the seatbelt? or can the seatbelt part simply be transferred to new seat and rails? I tried having a look but i couldnt see any and didnt really want to take the seats out just to check.
  18. Sorry for the double post. Anyway I'll look into the ISCV, I'm meant to be studying for uni exams at the moment haha just trying to get an idea of all the issues it could be so i can eliminate them once i'm on holidays in two weeks. All ideas and opinions are welcome.
