  1. Lol i've taken off my front bar off one too many times! Heres how you do it.

This is for the face-lift corolla (05-06)

First of all you need the following tools

    Flathead + Phillips screwdriver

10mm (deep would help but not needed) socket + Socket wrench

Please note this is from the top of my head and i'm about 90% sure this is correct (once i get home from work ill double check it and hopefully get some pics up)

Ok, there should 6 bolts, 3 clips and 2 screws holding your front bar in place

The 4/6 bolts are underneath your car, and the other 2 are on each side (near the wheels-guard) - Note that to see the 2 bolts on the side u need to sorta pull the plastic bit back. Use the socket wrench to take them all off

Once all 6 bolts are off, pop the bonnet and use the phillips to take off the rubber stops (its the thing which stops the bonnet from hitting the chassis).

Next to those rubber things should be 2 clips. Use the flat head to take them off. The other clip should be in the centre (behind the toyota badge).

Once all are off, carefully pop out the sides of the front bar by pulling it from under the guard.

Once it has been popped out, pull the front bar upwards and it should just come off.

I'll get some fotos tonight or if not now then by the weekend

  2. 3 spottings.

Saw a corolla @ the lights near quix (leaving hassall grove) at about 7pm. Once again not sure, but it looked like pujo. Only car i know to have that light bluish colour with a different front bar.

Saw another corolla @ 8pm; white with clear or black tail lights (was dark couldnt really tell when i drove past) with big chromies sitting at Thalia St in Hassall Grove

Last but not least, spotted a red corolla at 830am this morning driving down Pitt street Parramatta (saw it when i was walking to work). Looks like he had the c-one front bar without the mesh. black rims rear skirt w/ a towbar and sportivo skirts. (not sure if it was a sportivo or but it didnt look like it cos i saw no exhaust) It was sexy!

  3. spotted a silver sportivo (couldnt tell if it was a facelift or not) at bob janes @ Parra today (11:30am). Had the C-One rear bumper, black spoiler, black shark fin antenna, stock rims and a twin tip exhaust. Couldnt tell if it was lowered cos it was on the hoist. Looked very slick from what i saw. Plates: AL****

A member on this forum? if so where did you get that shark fin antenna, its purrty.

Also spotted d_ice (not a corolla but mentioning anyway :P) turning out of Parra Westfield today at about (2:00pm) No mistake in that it was you, purple lights, chromies, purple cloth coming out from the boot?, pumping your music in Aird St hehe. I walked straight past you when you were giving the ticket at the boomgates.

  4. First of all thanks all for looking! Now inregards to your questions

Car looks nice. What size rims are those??

Did you cut your nice TRD intake??? If so why??

The front bar looks awesome is that original or the one from carmate....

My rims are 16's will make them 17's P1 Racers or Wedsports SA70's (depends on how much money i get from my future project haha)

Yes i did cut my intake, i was having problems fitting it and the little rubber brace TRD provides was too short. Mine is only a 1zz and since the engine is smaller/lower (compared to the 2zz), it didn't sit properly

    - it was in the path of the battery

    - would put pressure on my right head light,

    - the pipe would block the headlight cover so if the bulb goes out id need to take out the intake to change it

Also the pod would hit the chassis at the bottom. Now it fits perfect! and MORE then enough clearance for a fog light (but that wont be the case with this new kit :P)

+ it looks sexier with the S tube

Yeah dude what's the deal with your TRD CAI?

That kit is looking rad though, keep going! I wanna see it finished!

Unfortunately yes it is from carmate - id hate to say it but their service wasnt that bad LOL. But the kit didnt fit at ALL but i was prepared for it. Took me about 40 minutes to get it to sit into place, and about another 20 minutes to make it flush on the right side

Left side is next, it should require the same amount of work i done on the right side (hopefully  ) Would be quicker if i had a jigsaw haha. Using a hacksaw and angle grinder sucks :P

As for the Intake, as above

do you have any more shots or your rear?

and do you have a muffler/tip on it?

Nah im still running the stock exhaust so its pointing down. If i do get an aftermarket one id prob keep it pointing down somehow.

Everything in my car was pretty much DIY.

    Special thanks to

Mark/Mish & Dylan for doing the coilovers installation

Zarate Garage - Toyota specialists in HassallGrove :P

Dsports - doing all the paintings

Anyways - hopefully in a month or so it should all be looking shmick! got to go snowies so ill be painting and installing my bar after July !9th.

    Future Mods

    Cosmetic

    C-One Eyelids

    C-One Wingtips

    P1 Racers or Wedsports SA70's

    Performance

TRD Supercharger! along with anything else that needs it to work properly to its optimum (still researching into this)

    Interior

    Double Din Screen w/ Carputer

    TRD Quick/Short shift

    Alarm LOL

Stay Tuned, i promise to bring you a monster 1zz =]

  5. Before i fork out $1200++ this weekend and order it, does anyone have a genuine C-One front bar for the facelift? (i know theres someone with a c-one pre-face frontbar - just cant remember who)

Knowing its made from fibreglass :( i just want to know if the fit is 100%

Does it also have all the holes so its clip and bolted on? NO modification required. (except paint it)

Does it also use the stock frontbar clips?

Or should i try my luck with Carmates replica - im kinda prepared to modify it, but id rather spend and get the real thing. Also it adds +1 to boasting points :P

    Any help would be appreciated

  6. As the topic says. I'm looking to buy a new Air Condenser as the one i have now is busted.

I just wanted to know if anyone has ever bought or heard of these guys? (they are based in Newcastle and its a bit of a drive for me just to check the store out)

Anyone in Newcastle who has free time want to check out the store for me ? i would be extremely grateful!

    Parts and Panels

Site looks a bit dodgy but so is MSY (a computer store where i buy all my comp parts :P)

    Thanks!

Damn, forgot there was a Hooker St in Islington, that place is brothel-central.

I'll take a drive past it on the way out to uni this arvo, see what it looks like from the outside. Haven't got time to go inside and scope it out though

Haha brother-central aye. Doesnt sound too convincing now.

Thanks heaps Hiro, anything is better than nothing :)

  8. Yesterday, i got into a little accident. No one was hurt, except my Corolla :(

I was driving down Windsor Rd last night at like 10pm dropping my friend home from Parra. I was going about 60 and was approaching a set of lights. The guy infront of me was approx 2 metres away from the lights when it hits yellow. Then he BRAKES hard. Once I saw him brake I broke, and dropped it down gears hoping to engine break and slow me down. I managed to slow down heaps but I was sliding due to wet roads. I JUST hit him but it was enough for his towbar to puncture my front bar. There was NO damage to his car. We had to push down on his car while I got my friend to reverse my car – as the towbar was lodged inside my front bar :( (im so glad I taught her manual!)

I heard a large hissing sound and I thought my radiator was busted! But I realised it was fine since it wasn’t overheating. Driving a bit my windows fogged up and I turned the aircon on. It wasn’t clearing up the windows – so I checked it out and realised it was only blowing air. I assume I busted the aircon unit in the front? I guess that’s where the hissing sound came from – all the air pressure escaping?

Anyone have any idea on how much the aircon unit will cost to fix/replace?

My friend from work took a look at it and said it can be patched up and re-gassed for approx $100.

Looks like ill also need a new front bumper too gah!

  9. Hmm, dylan tried to install it today and there was not enough clearance as it was hitting the front headlight (well it was putting pressure)

Any other facelift corolla conquest (hatch) got the TRD CAI installed? and if so how did u manage to make it fit. Suggestions please =]

    Anyways thanks for trying =]
