  1. Hi I have a 99 hilux 4x2 purchased brand new by me in early 2000 , my car has 290,000 k's on it , it burnt out an intake valve at 89,000 other than that has been a reliable car but for the last 3 months or so it has been idling like a hairy goat and sounds like it has an exhaust leak/burnt exhaust valve when cold but when it warms up this noise disappears ? Strrange has me stumped also at low revs under labour it will miss fire , the engine has lost no power and still has the 3500rpm "powerband" it will pull 80kmh in second and 125kmh in third I have redback extractors , k&n air filter plus 2 hiclones fitted , I read with interest of the recourring problem between 3RZFE owners , I am hoping it isn't exhaust valve ( the intake valve fix cost me $3500+ nearly 10 years ago !) Although I have read on another forum that my problem can be caused by tired coil packs , so I am going replace them leads and plugs and see what happens , keep you posted ..............
