  1. $200 each ?

and how long did it take to install them

$200 for the pair, took me about half a day to install them all up, I had a 2003 Camry previous and the door speaker pods are practically the same so I knew what to expect, I just had to cut out the factory speaker from the pod, trim the lip on the inside edge of the pod until the speaker fitted in, then I just made up small 'L' shaped brackets out of sheet metal, I pop riveted them into the sides of the pod under each of the mounting holes in the speaker, then just drilled a hole in the brackets for the speaker screws to self tap into them and it holds the speaker down nice and firm in place. I still used the factory speaker connections inside the pod, just soldered the wires for the speaker to the lugs inside so I could still use the factory plug for the pod.

  2. My head unity has a portable player selection for input, I have an AUX in socket but when I select the portable player it say 'No Portable Player Connected' or Connection Failed, I can't remember, I would imaging you could, check with the owners manual or Toyota, that should confirm it, I haven't tried to link my pnone to play music as I don't have that many songs on it.

  3. I have installed a set of 6 x 9 Rockford Fosgate Punch P1694C speakers in the rear, they are running off the standard head unit, I had to cover the tension bar in the boot with foam to protect the magnet but I get a rumbling at low volume mainly in the right speaker, I have check the polarity and it is wired correctly, it seems to be less at higher volume but the bass seems hollow like the speaker is getiing too much power but the volume is only at 45 on the head unit, it only noticable on certain songs depending on the bass, I can only think there is a problem with the speakers. I only installed them on Sunday. Not sure why it's happening. Also does anyone have a pic of the standard dash tweeter or can tell me the size of it and what would be a suitable replacement?

  4. Finally got some plcs of my Bodykits Kingdom lip kit for 09 on Aurions, don't know how to add pics to my gallery, could someone let me know if photobucket is ok and my pics wont be available around the world to anyone so I know to black out my number plate if I use it. Keep getting an error trying to upload the pics to this post.

  5. With deleting the rear mufflers and running 2.5" pipes back, is it done from point 'A' (the join) or point 'B' (the 'Y') in this pic? I have measured the pipes and after the join to the muffler they are 2.1 inch and just under 2 inches on the other side of the join back to the 'Y'. Also on a different note, can't we add pics to our own gallery any more?

From A : it would be the cheapest i think and is usually done from there hence the "muffler delete"

    Thanks bigVAN

  7. Hi Currajong,

You just remove the painted back of the mirror, that would be the cover pointing to the front of the car, you just move the mirror glass around and if you look behind it (you may need a torch) you will see the plastic clips that hold the cover on, you have to unhook them and take the cover off (using a screwdriver), this will give you access to the screws that hold the indicator assembly. Just unscrew it and replace it with the new one, there should be a plug to disconnect the old one. It's not easy, if you ask a panel beater or spray painter how to take them off they will show you and may even do it for you for free, they can do it in about a minute if you have trouble, biggest problem doing it is trying not to break something or scratch the paint, wrap your tools in a rag when you use them, the Aurion/Camry manuals on here show you how to remove them, just do a search or look in the frequent questions thread, it's the 1st one under Aurion.

    Hope that helps.

  8. I had no problem with mine, but as linhvo said above, bending the metal bit on the led itself, sometimes the contact wires have moved to the centre and just need bending out, carefull removing the maplight/sunnies holder, I had mine replaced under warranty for a faulty switch, while I was waiting for it to be replaced I asked spare parts how much one costs, around $400, rediculous.

  9. I wanted to go with Rockford Fosgate 6 x 9 2ways recommended to me on here but I couldn't track any down and they are discontinued, I went with Focal 6 x 9 2ways from Autobarn, $229RRP got them for $200, the are made in France, I put sound deadening inside the whole door then some acoustic matting from Jaycar directly behind the speaker in the door, I am only running them off the standard deck and I am very impressed with them, great bass and piercing treble, not much modification to fit in the standard door pods once I cut out the factory speaker and the depth is fine window glass wise. They have adjustable tweeters too so you can angle them up towards your ears.

  11. I have one of those tool pickup things that you push on the end and 4 claw like steel grabbers come out the other end, if there is enough room I have fed that through 1st then grabbed the wire and pulled it all back through, I use this when going from the one side of the dash to the other and it also worked in the rubber tubing from the car into the door, I pulled the boot out at each end, fed the tool grabberd up the guts of it then fed the wire into the claws and just pulled in back through. You will know the thing, got it from Jaycar but most car shops have them, quick pickups or something like that they are called.

  12. I bought a pair of aftermarket Camry folding mirrors, they have the wires for heating the glass for fog, I have looked in the owner's manual and it says some models come with mirror heaters that work with the rear demister. I looked in the wiring diagram for this in the manuals I downloaded from here, mine is a 2010 model and although the manual covers up to 2009, they say the mirror heater wires are yellow then white with black stripes up to the mirror, I have not found any yellow wires but I have found 3 white with black stripe wires in each front door, two are thinner wires and they are all crimped together to a thicker white with black stripe wire, I am thinking of pulling them appart and testing to see if they are mirror heater wires, can anyone confirm this? In the owner's manual in the fuse section there is a spot under the glove box labelled MIR HTR (mirror heaters), there is already a fuse in there from new but my oringinal mirrors didn't have heaters, are the wires in the door I mentioned the heater mirrors and they have just earthed them out to complete the circuit for the rear demister to still operate? If anyone can help me with it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

  13. As for the auto-folding module, you can get them on eBay, a Singapore seller has an Easycar (claims it ZMC) brand one for under $40 delivered and their is one from the UK, they work on folding the mirror in when you lock the door, they get the signal from the power lock motor positive, they then unfold on ACC or IGN depending on how you wire them. As I have said before I bought the ones from that link that is on this thread, just buy the mirrors as their module is rubbish and you have to harass them for a wiring diagram, they want $48 for it. I installed mine on Monday, they only worked a couple of times and now the module is not sending power to the folding motor, the backs of the mirrors I got painted to match the car you have to be careful puttling them on as the clips snap easily, the mirrors seem ok quality except for the clips, they are pretty easy to wire up with the glass adjustment etc, if you can find it in your car like I am trying (if anyone can help me would be great), they have mirror heaters in the glass for fog, they are a good fit. They are ment for left hand drive so the right hand mirror has to be adjusted all the way out to be useful and the passenger side one has a vertical black line that acts as an addition blind spot as the mirror kinks out from that line. I am still wanting for them to get back to me with a diagram, the one they sent me does't open properly and only the text shows up which I followed to wire it, they are not from Berkley CA in the US as they state, they are based in Taiwan so expect communication problems and long periods before replies unless you keep hassling them, personally I am going to get another module, their's is plastic, cheap and nasty looking.

  14. I'm pretty sure 'collapasible steering wheel' refers to the steering column, because of the up/down adjustment the column has join in it a bit like a uni-joint on a two-piece tailshaft and it's designed to collapse under front impact rather than spear the wheel into to driver/cab, saftely thing I think. That's what I heard.

  15. I'm doing Townsville to Cairns and back next Tuesday, the return trip back will be around 4.30 so won't get back to Townsville till after 8pm, only have to drive out about 20 minutes and you can see them dead on the side of the road. Will be watching the road, on the way back especially.

  16. My Aurion is black, I have the genuine touch up paint that came with the car, all touch ups that have a small brush do stand out a bit but if you fill the scratch then lightly polish over the touch up paint and around it you may get it back to a even finish and the polish may restore the faded paint, but then you could have a good spot unless you want to cut and polish the whole car to restore the paint. Most car shops can tell you what polish would work best, Macguires have pretty good stuff & I'm happy using it for the interior also their cleaners & protectors are good I find, I have used it on my current car and the 2 I had before it but some people like other brands. I bought one of the pens off the tv that they advertise that do any colour, it works ok if the scratch is thin and you can see a raised coating where the scratch was but the colour matches well, it may flatten out when I give it a polish, those pens aren't cheap though. Around $60 with postage.

  17. From this. to this...

Hate to ask under the circumstances mate, is it just the camera or do those DRLs appear to look like a single straight beam in the dark? Also where did you get them? Are they self adheasive LED strips that you modified yourself? Are they just stuck to the front of the headlamp?

Sorry to see your car that way, hope it's fixable and no-one was injured.
