  1. Hi Folks, First post, so apologies for any transgressions! I have a 2008 Aurion Touring (NZ), and was also interested in the leather - where it was used and what treatments. Local Toyota could not recommend any treatment - surprised me as they are also the Lexus agents! From inspection I would suggest that on the Touring model the leather is used on all the "touch" or "contact" surfaces, i.e. the surface you sit on and that you back goes against PLUS the area on the door panel on the arm rest and inside the arm rest handle. The sides and backs of the seats, etc. all appear to by vinyl. Fairly typical, from my experience, even with some higher end cars. No guarantees implied, but having owned some 10 to 15 cars with leather trim over the years, I have found that a product called Effax Leather Balm does a real good job of keeping the leather looking and feeling good. Used it in a RR Silver Shadow I had as a chauffeured car with brides in white dresses with no problems!! A 500 ml pot cost me $NZ35 from the local saddlery (horsey people's shop!). As always, try it on a small area first. Hope that helps
  2. Just sold my '94 Soarer GT-L after 11 years and in process of selling a 123,000 km '92 MR2 Targa Top, but also just bought a 2008 Aurion Touring - that identifies me as from NZ, if nothing else does :-). A browse round this site gives the impression that it is well used, well moderated and therefore likely to be both useful and entertaining. Looking forward to gaining value, and giving a little where I can. I've had some 35 cars to date, everything from a Model A Ford to a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow! Now that the "silver" is more to do with hair colour than a model of car, have settled on the Aurion to carry us reliably through for a few years in comfort. Redmac
