Putting door trim back on

Hi, I recently had a window that stopped winding up, which I ended up fixing myself just had to replace the winding part. put it all back together except the last part the actual door trim inside of the door doesn't seem to want to go in! Not sure if its bent or something's wrong with it but I can only get 1 side in then the other one buckles do I need a new door trim or am I not doing it right? Car is 1999 corolla Csi
