silvabullit have u done this? or do u know someone who has done this. i found on another web site that a guy put one into a 82model rolla and he could not select reverse gear. is this likely to happen to me? and yer if i was so lucky to find a gear box with an lsd that would be mad.
-
oh fuking sweet, if i was a chick id be wet over this topic right now. very good news. would it effect my final drive? atm 110km/hr is 3,200rpm in fith gear
-
thanks alot rollamods, ive got a mate whos an importer, so ill ask him if he can get me one from japan. is their any way i can double check id be pretty cut if i went to put it in and something didnt line up. thanks alot, my box is pretty dead atm and im planning on going to the track in the next month, in its current state ill be dead in the water.

as much as id love to provide a dating service for u im inclind to decline sticking some poor girl in the back seat of my strolla. that is if my gf wonts to come, shes not much of a fan of cars, my mates are into their cars as well, they bought out a high octane dvd at a party and 3 of our gfs left. lol was funny at the time coz no one noticed.
-
another question. do you guys normaly bring your gf's/ partners along to these club meets or are they left at home?
-
ok sweet, so long as im not working ill be their.
-
so what normaly happens on these meets"? is it about the driving or do we go and do something?
-
thanks alot for all the reply, yer a year ago when i went looking for body parts i was told $150 for a second hand one. the only problem is that ill break that one and as we all know its not cheap to take the old one off and throw a new one on. on the other hand 150 box + 700$ clutch kit is still alot of money. maybe ill limit my agro gear changing ways;)
how can a 20V gear box fit onto my old 16v 7A-FE motor. wouldnt the gear box mountings be different?
-
well that sucks. yer i dont dead shift properly i do put my clutch in, but i smash it into second gear as hard as i possibly can, im surprised its lasted this long. 4th5th are fine, and i presume 1st is fine too. i dont supose u have the number for chasers do u? yer i got clutch problems too, :( im taking it easy atm.
thanks for the reply

gday guys. well it finaly happened ive destroyed my gear box racing a new astra sri. one narsty crunch too many over the last 18months has left second gear in abit of a mess to the point that anything over 4,000rpm in first leaves second gear engagments very rough at 6,800rpm it just sounds narsty even if i grany shift waiting for the syncos to line up... they are destroyed. i live on sydneys north shore, can anyone recomend a good jap car gear box repairer? ive been told by my mechanic not to expect anything under 1000$.
if anyone has had any expereince in syd please post some web sites or phone number of palces u recomend or advise not to go to.
thanks alot

thanks alot rollamods. all i need to do now is organise it and find an installer..... im going to wait till my engine is blown.
-
oh real funny guys :P . they dont supply for my 7A-FE engine. anyone know a company that can rebuild my head in sydney with high quality parts?
-
sweet as guys. im researching for alot of work to be done to my vehicle over the time period that i dont have my licence (still awaiting confirmation letter)
-
i was just wondering if the ZZE123R 5Y (2005) sportivo seat will bolt straight into an ae102r (1997) the seats in mine are stuffed they make heaps of noise and move on the brackets. if not can any one sugest the best place to buy seats on good condition in sydney. i dont wont a bucket seat, just something standard and neat.
thanks guys

ive got the AE102R 1.8L motor 1997. it has not got an oil cooler. yer ur right the older corolla does i found one on ebay that apparently came off a ae92
-
sweet chairs mate. did u install it your self? i presume you have a oil temp as well as the presure guage?
-
gday guys, ive been reading about oil coolers and the opperating temps that engines should be running at. i came to the conclusion that maybe i need a small oil cooler, i did some research and found an adaptor plate to fit between my oil filter and block.
will i have low oil prssure? or does it all presurise being a thick fluid?
is it my oil pump that moves the oil through the filter?
also i require a new front bar, my indicators are installed in it is their anywhere that i can get a basic one with abit more air flow, i dont wont to make a statment with it just to replace it with something clean and tidy.
thanks guys for your help

youll only need a capacitor if your sub is drawing too much current and say the lights are dimming in the cabin or the sub runs out of juice when their are multiple beats in a row.
-
well of corse you could always argue that with any problem the design isnt at fault and that its the driver. so if your implying that its the way i drive you are probibly correct, i drop the clutch alot but i dont ride it, not in trafic not on hills and not while changing gears..... i did buy a heavy duty clutch for a heavy duty purpose though. i think the oem center seems to be a good way to go. thanks for the replies
-
the pbr was installed by a crap mechanic in chatswood. from their on in ive been going to a guy in lindfield whos a champ, ever time ive broken something hes done right by me with high quality work
fly wheel machined, brand new clutch kits for both the exidys... i know coz im their when its happening talking to them. everything is aligned with the corect tools. i dont rev out my engine when i get new clutchs, only to about 3,000rpm for two weeks (1,000km) i slowly warm is up for another week just to get used to it when changing at high rpm and then i give it heaps from their on in.
so 1500 km before it gets thrashed, its slipping when i take it in, so their is damage to the clutch plate but the guy said im destroying my presure plate, im not into my burn outs ay just dumping it into gears. if you have a number for this guy at st marys ill give him a call with what he recomends, other wise ill try your exidy and oem mix.
im off to get a exhaust soon, im just doing the shopping for my parts atm, something nice and clean, ive done the suspension 100% overhaul of every part bushing and arm, even a new steering box. exhaust next then clutch followed soon after.
thanks for your quick reply, im surprised to hear that the newer strolas have similar clutchs the worst part about my car is my clutch, its the only thing ive had major problems with, if your exidy oem mix doesnt work ill investigate getting a custom built clutch ive heard good things.... alot of money though

Hiro Protagonist. ur correct i havent changed the compression. and your correct the poor 7a isnt running a blower. 100 octane gives me noticable throtal responce over 98...so the extra 2$ per tank isnt realy something im going to bitch and moan about. my exhaust smells different when i run it
its all in fun man. the harder i rape my little car the happier i am. atm ive got the whole thing in 1000pieces in my garage
