  1. Update: Spoke to Harrop. They won't sell the parts. It's all in-house apparently. But If I can get my Supercharger off and send it to them, they'll fix it all up, and send it back to me for around $300. I'm pretty happy with that. My only problem is that I'm in WA and they are in Melbourne. But... still much better than the cost of a replacement.
  2. Exactly LordBug, It's not a gasket leak but the seal on the belt pulley. I'm onto Harrop shortly, see what they can do for me. But yeah... I nearly had a cow when the Toyota bloke said that...
  3. I just got my car back from my local Toyota dealership after a 120k service. They told me the seal on the supercharger is leaking and as the don't manufacture that part anymore, so the only option is to replace the supercharger at the low low price of $5323!! can anyone tell me if I can get an aftermarket replacement seal or service kit?? I cannot for the life of me see why I should shell out over $5k If i can replace a part that probably only worth a few dollars.
  4. So I've just had a bingle in my TRD... *sadface* Anyways, my smash repairer said he was trying to source the grey splitter on the bottom of the front bumper. So far, I've been told I can only get it ex-japan and it will be a 5 week wait. Due to work commitments, I can't wait 5 weeks. Does anyone know where I may be able to get one closer/sooner?? Any help would be grateful.
  5. Is that right? cos I found the engine number on my paperwork. and its 10 digits long... that looks like its only 3...
  6. Nope nothing dodgy... I bought the car in WA and now I live in SA.. gotta transfer the rego.. so I'm just jumping through the hoops for the transport department. Cos It's a transfer, I have to get a police inspection done, and they need to "see" the engine number on my car. but anyways, Thank you all.
  7. I had the same problem a month ago. my "Check VSC System warning came on and my engine warning light came on. Fortunately I have access to my own scantool, so I plugged it in, did a scan and got 2 fault codes. They were: P0171 - System too Lean (Bank 1) P0174 - System too Lean (Bank 2) So I rang my friendly local toyota tech and had a word with him... Long story short I found that a vacuum hose had popped off the back of the supercharger, and was allowing too much air into the fuel/air mix. Which resulted in the engine coding a fault. What my tech also told me, was that when the engine logs a code it disables the VSC System as a safety measure (don't know why... just sayin'). So yeah.. I can't help you fix the fault with your car, but thats why your VSC System is showing a problem, cos your car shut it down.
  8. I've been looking for this for a while now, and it's probalby staring me in the face. But I can't for the life of me, find the engine number on my TRD. Can anyone help me out?
  9. I parked in a carpark a couple of days ago, and when I reversed out, I cracked the front spoiler of my TRD. I'm totally devastated, and don't get me started on how stupid i feel for doing something so dumb. Obviously i want to keep everything genuine, but Toyota have quoted me $980 for a replacement spoiler. My question is... Should i look for an alternative?(or, IS there an alternative?) Or,should i just wear the cost? I'm leaning towards the latter, but any advice would be good.
  10. I dunno about the Hi-clones.. For every one person who says its good... i get ten people who say they are bull****. I know one guy who was a master-tech for Subaru, who would get insanely angry if you even mentioned them. The general consensus was basically this. How can these things make any actual difference, if after the air passes through to hiclone, it still has to pass through the throttle body and the intake manifold, which, I'm sure would destroy any cyclonic effect the the hiclone was supposed to have on the air passing through it??
  11. I live in Coober pedy, which if any of you know it, is a really small town(no traffic lights, one round-a-bout and lots of small maze-like streets), and i'm a bit of a lead foot. So thanks to the heavy acceleration and stop-start driving I get around 15l/100km. But when i drive down the highway to Port Augusta (a 520km drive), i sit on 120kph and I get 8.1l/100km. But still the best car i've ever owned. FYI, i only use 98RON Premium.
  12. Hey Everyone, When I bought the TRD, I fell in love with just about eveything to do with this car. One this i did not find though, was any sort of i-pod or aux. connections. So, My first thought was to get an aftermarket stereo. I then noted a few things about the stereo that may cause dramas... 1. The Toyota GPS System. 2. The In-car telephone. 3. all those buttons on the steering wheel connected to the stereo. Has anyone been able to install an aftermarket stereo while still keeping all of the above systems being kept intact and working?
  13. Ahh.. Never mind, found it. Doh! *slaps forehead*
  14. Hey All, Just bought an '07 TRD Aurion in February. Hoping to spend alot of time on here.
