ok...this story takes us wayyy back to when I was 15. It could take a while :P
(apologies for bad photo's)
First car: '89 SV21 Camry Executive Wagon
My first ever car; had 550,000km's on the original motor and was still as strong as anything.
Standard deal; 3S-FE, auto...learnt how to drive in it and then my uncle gave me this...
Second car: '92 SV21 Camry 2.0ZX
A jap import 2.0ZX sedan. Same deal as the wagon, 3S-FE, Auto...but power windows all round, venetian blind on the back, alloys, footbrake as opposed to handbrake + a differerent centre console and an UNBELIEVABLY comfortable interior. Probarbly had some other features on it, but I can't remember at this point in time :(
Unfortunately it couldn't be registered due to it being dodgily registered in the beginning apparently, and needed a full re-compliancing + a full check of the car at a cost of over $800. Not feasible considering the car was barely worth the amount needed for just the check + money needing to be spent on getting it complied and RWC'd and rego'd.
Sooo the interior and alloys were stripped and thrown into the wagon and the sedan was sent to the wreckers :(
Not long after this photo was taken, I sold this car to a cousin of mine who had moved here from overseas and bought the next car. The red car drove perfectly until about 2 months ago when it was written off in a not-at-fault accident :(
Third car: '99 SXV20 Camry Conquest V6
A good friend of my dad had just bought a new Aurion so we bought his old Camry off him for a price that couldn't be ignored. The car had always been serviced by my dad since new and we knew the entire history of the car since day 1. The car recently had its 300,000km birthday which we celebrated with a new timing belt and water pump. Car is as strong as it was from the beginning and still has plenty of power from the 1MZ-FE :D
So yeah; this is my current daily driver and I don't see why I would be replacing it any time soon. It's absolutely perfect for a daily.
On a side note; this is my project car;
Fourth car: '90 Nissan R31 Skyline S3 Ti
Plans: RB25DET swap, HR31 front struts + coilover's all round, 15" SSR Watanabe RS8's, Autospoiler, Projector headlights, HR31 GTS seats...and yeah.
Thanks for reading!
Josh.
