  1. Hi all, I am just wondering if there is anything I should look out for when it comes to replacing the bonent on my 03 sportivo which is South Africian made. The bonet has been damaged and all the clear coat plus paint is peeling off and thus I have found a ZZE122 bonent from a wreckers which is the same year and colour. I have spoken to a few wreckers who all reckon they are the same but I wanna see if anyone here has done this before. I am Brisbane based and the bonet is in NSW, they are looking at $250 + $60 freight. Any thoughts on the matter would be great. I understand the Jap models are different and will not work but I am unsure if the ZE122 is compatible with the ZE123 as I thought it was really the running gear and internals that were different except for some added skirts and flashing that add to the overall look of the car.
  2. Are you sure, I've had multiple mechanics state the cable wires are rattling.. I just would like a simple fix, surely something is look or needs to be replaced to get rid of the rattle noise. Like I said before, if the noise is apparently, I just steady the shifter or pull/push it harder into the gear selection and it settles.
  3. Has anyone ever changed there shifter cable bushings. I've been told the rattle coming from the gear box area to the gear stick is caused by the bushing that support the shift cable wires. I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and have they fixed it. I get a rattle when driving or stationary and I noticed if I slight push the gear stick in any direction it settles down a little. For example if I was in 6th Gear,, pulling the shifter slightly harder towards the rear of the car settles to rattle a little. Any thoughts?
  4. Thanks again, I have now found out the following for the bushes. You can get Whiteline ones. They are part numbers W51424 and W53275 which are actually for the control arm. The Radius Arm/Rod that Pedders quoted a part number on was a Whiteline Control arm with Camber offset. You can also go with Nolathane which are 45430 and 45589 for the Control arm bushing. Lower Arm Inner Fronts and Lower Arm Inner Rear For the Shocks I am still tossing that one up. I think I can get the Gabriel's fairly cheap.
  5. The car is at 160k now so I suspect that it hasn't been treated well prior to me as this is my weekend car since I have a work van. Pedders state its the Radius Rod bush however I am keen to get a kit and replace pretty much the lot for various reason. Whats the American version of the 2003 sportivo?
  6. Hi all, I recently replaced my tyres and found from Tyrepower and Pedders that my shocks are soft and lacking control and that my Radius Rod bushes are worn and cracked. I am required to replace my shock absorbers in my car and have been researching on what brands to get. I have not been able to find any particular model numbers on the forums regarding this. If anyone has replaced there shocks for a 2003 model with KYB's Monroe's etc can you please provide me with the model numbers so I can confirm I am looking for the right parts. I have the following already if anyone can confirm. KYB Front Left 334377 Front Right 334376 and Rears 341338 Monroe Fronts E7008+ Rears E1312 Gabriel Front Left G56661 Front Right G56660 Rears G51736 For the Radius Bush I need to replace, I can't find anywhere that sells this online. Would I have to buy it in a kit with new bushes for the whole front end or can I get this separate? Any help regarding the above would be much appreciated.
  7. Are these sold yet? If not how much you asking for them?
  8. Hi all, looking for a set of factory alloy rims for the 2003 Corolla Sportivo model. I have the original spare wheel and the current mags are crap, therefore I am looking for original factory alloy rims to go back on the car. 16" inch versions. let me know if you got em and I'll contact you. Cheers
  9. Yeah just got a new one for my 03 Model. Would you believe that my wife has the 03 Ascent and is basically the same battery and that my Mitsubishi Van also has the same battery and Terminals.. :) Its a MF40B20DF Super Charge that is + Terminal on top left if your face the car and the bonnet is up. It is 380CCA and is the top range battery for Super Charge.. I got it from Battery Traders on Moss St Springwood QLD for just over $100. Also Believe the Century model is called a NS40ZLSX of something along those lines which is 390CCA
  10. Hi mr2 I'll give it another go. I am sure I have done it in 20 seconds and so did the dealer..but hey whats another effort :) If no luck I assume I am off to the dealer to trace out if the keyless module in the car has died.
  11. Mr Mint... Its exactly the same FOB.. I pulled both apart and both are the same design and even same codes on the PCB.. I'll try the 2nd pdf again as I don't have a functional transmitter (FOB) but I would like to confim that the 20 off to on is as follows count one is OFF to ON then back to OFF, count too is from OFF to ON and back to OFF.. or are we counting like OFF to ON is 1 then from ON to OFF is 2? Thanks again
  12. Hi mr2, Yes the car does beep if the key is in the ignition and the door is open. The interior lights do work and no the car has never beeped if the seat belt is not on when runing the car. I am also using the black key. I have tried the 20 times method, so did the dealer. I have tried the key in the ignition twice remove, close open door twice and key ignition once open close doors config as well. The old remote flashes but does not work on the system anymore. replaced batteries and as I said earlier soldered the button back down after it became loose inside. Checked all fuses and the car does work perfectly without it however I would like to know where the keyless entry module is in the car and are there any other options to try before taking it to the dealer which is cost $130 per hour to fault find plus parts. I also assume the 20 times method is off to on then back to off is counted as 1 then off to on and back again is 2?
  13. Hi all, I have been searching the net for days trying to find out how to get my wife's 03 Corolla Ascent keyless entry working. The old FOB lights up but has been intermittent in work after the button broke and I did a tiny solder joint to fix it.. I replaced it with a new FOB and have been unable to programme the new FOB (Teardrop Style) following the instructions from the net and the store I bought it from. I even took it to oldmac Toyota at Springwood and the guy tried the same thing I did for programming it and the indicators would not flash hence the car would not go into programming mode. He told me that I would need to book in the car and most likely replace the keyless entry module. I would like to know where this module is and is there anyone out there that has replaced or fixed this type of thing before? I'd appreciated any advice right now as my head is spinning at why this is not working and for $130 to just diagnose the fault its more worthwile to buy a new keyless entry setup and have it installed?
