  1. hah i took it back to my mechanic and said he may have gotten it wrong and boy was he offended! looks like i need to find someone else does aNyone know how much it will cost roughly just to have it pulled apart and looked at???????
  2. i have been going easy on the clutch as advised by my mechanic. its done more than 1000km now i havent felt much friction point and even when it was fresh it wasnt really noticable, not even like the stock clutch when the car was new. its like the clutch has softer than its ever been. the friction point (barely noticeable) is maybe 30% from the top of the pedal if that makes sense. i never dump it at 5k. i've dropped it once or twice in the past week its been raining, no more than 3500rpm is there also a way to make the clutch pedal feel firmer? like adjusting the pedal assembly somehow?
  3. i've just had my flywheel and clutch replaced a couple of weeks ago (finally!). exedy heavy duty clutch kit & toda lightweight flywheel (1zz) and i'm not sure if its sposed to feel this way.. it does wind up a little quicker and the torque has been met halfway, but this was expected but the clutch feels like my old worn clutch. if feels like it rides a fair bit, and off the mark it feels like its not grabbing. i know the flywheel is lighter and due to less inertia, the clutch slows it down a lot quicker. but it doesnt feel like its grabbing and engaging well. does anyone else feel this? is this normal? i dont know whether theres been much improvement at all what could be the problem and do you guys think i should have it re-checked? thanks in advance for all help
  4. Has anyone ever had any problems ordering through Modyourcar.com? I ordered my 1zz flywheel more than 3 months ago and they keep making excuses not to call me and jerking me around. Now they are blaming the problem on Toda. These guys dont even have a phone number and they wont give me one. talk about dodgy And even if i do get it, have i been ripped off if i've paid $850 for the damn thing?
  5. I dont mind personalised plates as long as theyre not a ridiculous slogan on a ridiculous car. i have Black personalised plates that just say RXD.### ppl ask what it means and i just say it means my name Richard, where X represents the letters between R & D. so everyone always know its me when they see me driving. helps people remember your car, its a good way to be proud of your ride i couldnt stand the poxy yellow nsw plates AH.##.TJ and i the BLACK plates complement my CASCADE BLUE corolla with WHITE rims and DARK windows nicely!
  6. my clutch is on the way out so i wanna install a lightweight flywheel and hd clutch together to save cash in the longrun instead of installing them seperately but i'm still tossing up the flywheel option. i've been told you lose torque with a lighter flywheel. and i can see how that would be true because of the lesser momentum, but acceleration would still be better, right? i dropped a couple of sets today in the wet and my clutch is just about nuked, but i was wondering if the clutch would cop more abuse when dumped if the flywheel was lightweight because of the acceleration of the flywheel itself? incidentally, for anyone who has a light flywheel, how do you find racing and doing burnouts in comparison with the stock setup...
  7. yeah bro i've got up to 210kmh in my sedan and i think she'll go faster coz it hit 210 at 5th and 5500rpm, coulda prob got near 220 if i held it. started crapping myself hahaha. try octane booster, its liquid gold!
  8. Hey bro, try using Dynamat. no doubt you've heard of it, its a sound deadener usually used to stop vibration, reduce distortion and enhance your sound system atmosphere inside the car. i havent done it yet but i plan to soon coz i do get a few vibrations in my car, none really noted from having the window halfway down. i was going to do it when installing my sound system, but i (and many) would still recommend it for reducing vibrations inside the doors. you may need some help installing it if you plan to do it correctly, pulling the whole door apart including windows. but i warn u it can be expensive... look into it anyways. any good auto/car audio store will stock dynamat. hope this helps -ted
  9. thanks a lot you guys have been a big help. i will prob backorder one from jb hifi mopp that exad looks wicked in your console dude
  10. thanks heaps dude. that tells me you have a double din unit. i plan to put in a double din dvd player eventually but later down the track along with speakers, amps and sub. has anyone got the part number for the pocket? i'd rather get the toyota one coz i am told it fits perfectly and the generic retail ones are flimsy pieces of junk haha
  11. Hey i'm sure a lot of ppl have the single din trims to fit an aftermartket head unit into the oversized double din factory head unit space. its the three peice; two spacers on the side and a pocket tray and they're available from toyota but they're pretty expensive for a piece of plastic trim. Anyway, does anyone know the Part numbers for these 3 peices? i'm sure the spacers are seperate to the pocket. i just really need to know coz every toyota dealer charges a different price, and when you ring them up and ask them, half of the d*ckheads don't know what it is. so thus, i need the part numbers! my corolla factory mp3 head deck has carked it, only plays FM RADIO NOW!! so in goes my kenwood single din stereo thanks in advance guys. keep rollin'
  12. YEA BOY i would definately recommend kingy's. i have superlows fitted to my car and its the best. 50mm doesnt look too low, looks really sporty and didnt compromise the suspension softness until i put low profile tyres and mags on. they handle amazing, a lot less bodyroll, firm ride and not too harsh. in my opinion, the LOW springs wouldnt make much difference in terms of looks, drop it with SUPERLOWs and you wont regret. i bought my king springs from ebay for $200ish and i installed them with a friends help. took a couple of hours. if you have any mates that know a thing or two about pulling struts, then try that first. saved myself a couple of hundred dosh. good luck dude
  13. daymn thats the rear sun visor i been lookin for too! anyone know where i can source one in AUS? thats the shiz'
  14. Nice work dude, did you pickup the TODA flywheel for the MRS (MR2 spyder) 1zz? does that one drop straight into 1zz rolla's? i'm really considering getting that done coz my clutch has suffered one too many dumps (burnouts, racing) haha dont you hate the smell of clutch haha -Rich
  15. hey yo I think i speak for most of the sedan owners to say it **** me off that toyota dont have enough upgrade parts for the sedan, i'm even talking only of the minor accessories. theres a lotta sportivo stuff that i want, but just wont fit! does anyone know of toyota hatch/stivo parts that will fit on the sedans but were not listed on the toyota accessories sheet? i'm mainly wondering if the CF rear plate trim for the hatch will fit on a sedan boot. also i would really like to throw a rear sunguard or roof spoiler on the sedan, i think some of you guys have this but i couldnt find u in the forum again. any additional stuff would be good too... thanks guys, stay wicked!
  16. yeah i got King superlows on stock shocks as well and its a dream and my and my mate installed it ourselves. well he did most the work coz he's a toyota mechanic, can pull my car apart blindfolded. just need swaybar and strutbrace now.
  17. I've grinded a fair few times when racing, and now its becoming more often and i think my gearbox is on its way out too. Too many burnouts and launches. and my clutch is wearing too. its gay. I really should get a shortshifter. if you're gonna get a new gearbox, get a shortshifter as well. makes it less likely to align the stick up wrong and grind your gears. "...THE TOOTHFAIRY IS GONNA BE BANKRUPT AFTER SEEING THIS GEARBOX" :(
  18. THANKS HEAPS GUYS, they look pretty wicked. i'm glad theyre not the crappy covers as well. do you guys find they are heaps grippier than the stockies? coz sometimes i slip up on my fancy footwork if my shoes are a lil wet!
  19. I can't seem to find any pictures of the sportivo pedals anywhere, not even on toyota site. Can someone PLEASE post a pic of the pedals if they have them? I hear only good things about them and i think i want to get them for my manual sedan but I HAVENT SEEN HOW THEY LOOK LIKE!!! thanks in advance. keep 'Roll-in...
  20. hey dude my Corolla ascent manual transmission was making a high pitched whine as well, but only when i hit like 190kmh hahaha!. and when i was on octane booster it didnt come on until about 200kmh. i asked my mate who is a toyota mechanic and he just laughed and said "probly coz they're not meant to go that fast" anyway, try throwing octane booster in the tank and see if you have any difference. then it may not be the transmission coz i wasnt sure exactly what it was. altho i wasnt too worried coz its not often i hit 200km/h
  21. i am not sure how heavy each wheel + tyre is Blue Stivo, like i said the service at tempe tyres is...well crap. they're too busy while being arrogant so i didnt get a chance to ask any questions or talk to any of the guys. the only conversation was "what kinda car is it? what wheels and size?" and thats it. but after they dropped it and $1200 later i was happy with them. also with that package i got Nankang tyres but i heard that for roughly an extra $100 u can get Falkens or something better. the Nk's are pretty average. the overall handling is mad compared to stockies. and just so you know, the Blue detailing on the rim is just decals and it wont last, i wish i'd known that before. in fact its already peeling a tad nonetheless, they're wicked rims!
  22. Hey all i'm a new member. just got my new wheels for my Rolla . its just a 1zz-fe ascent sedan but i love it. got it dropped recently on King superlow springs and Kspeed daytona rims from tempe. they've got wicked wheels by the way but tempe hasnt got the best customer service. anyways, tell me what you think of the new look? all my mates reckon it looks wicked havent started moddin' anythin yet but i'm considering it. anyone from the central coast NSW? cheers dudes
