  1. Thanks guys, Made contact with all those guys and progressing slowly now that x-mas/new year holidays etc have past.. Engine's out. Short on funds, so trying to make a decisionbased on what I have available. 4AGTE I bought had blown a gasket, and as I don't have an engine management for turbo ATM, starting to change my mind and thinking I'll just put in a stragjit GZE bigport I've got that comp tested well, perhaps with an SC14 stapped to it.. http://s1274.beta.photobucket.com/user/JedzWagn/media/gun-metal%20wagon/080220131355_zps8e846632.jpg.html
  2. Rich, you should check out: http://alltracwagon.net/ & https://www.facebook.com/Corolla.Ae95.4wd?ref=hl ...if you haven't already...
  3. Got some leave from work for x-mas. Made a start de-looming engine bay and removing E58 gearbox from 4AGZE engine..
  4. Mick, just read through whole post.. Can now appreciate all the experience you've gained ..no wonder you rip into cars so confidently these days.. Awesome work!
  5. Thanks all, (You guys seem to all know each other??) ^^Who's Matt?^^ Actually strange twist of fate ..had Mick come over to check out my projects after I unknowingly bought a part of him on ebay and we got to talking.. great guy/z ( ..his buddy came over and has got an AE95 too.) His knowledge of the AE95 & 4AGE engine's pretty solid, ..but he's not the go to man for turbo.. Have posted same thread on club4ag and will do as you guys have suggested and post on twin cam as well. Can't hurt to get a bit of feed back from different areas. Will keep a progress update on here too
  6. Hi guys. Posting from Melbourne (PrettyCoolWagon on Toymods). asked a lot of questions over the years, bought gear, both tools and cars and engines etc.. more to go no doubt as I follow this passion.. I have 3 corolla AE95 4WD wagons and as many engines but this thread is about a 4AGZE turbo conversion. I don't know anyone in my immediate area who can lend a hand, talk me through the finer points etc. so.. until I do.. you guys are it. So far I've worked on my own.. experience goes as far as fitting new headers, re-doing timing belt, dropping out a 4afe engine, stripping down 7afe and getting some machining done on it, swapping over rear suspension from one wagon to another, currently doing the same with the exhaust system... Back ground is in general building maintenance and metal fabrication ..but I don't know much about the finer points of engine re-building and re-wiring. The intention is to do as much as I can. Reached that stage where I just want to build the damn thing, ..figure, I'll just get started.. post my progress on here and ask questions when I get stuck.. I've zero experience with turbo conversions, so go slow for me. I've read about, fuel pressure regulators, boost guage's, larger fuel pumps, aftermarket ECU's and so on but I don't really know what order and process to bring it all together in.. Bought a JDM AE92 smallport GZE engine with original LSD FWD gearbox attached (will be removed) It's already been fitted out for turbo. (unfinished project.) Came with a 2nd hand Garret T25 and cast top mount turbo manifold (that I don't want..) Oil return has been plumbed into the sump ..and it's been fitted out with oil filter re-location using braided hoses. A couple of other hoses have been fitted.. adjustments to the water pipe on the intake side.. Not so great at internet either, how do I get pic's up instead of thumbnails? Is there a free hosting site most people like to use? Immediate goals. Drop out 4afe Compression test 4agze Get turbz mani made up Remove C-series box and fit re-built E-series.. Considering using different gears from another E-series.. Something more streetable. AE95 has very low ratioed 1st and 2nd gears. Open to discussion on this.. Cheers. Jed
  7. Mick, Love what you've done mate.. What's with missing centre caps? Not sure 20v will get you power.. few extra rev's in each gear.. 4wheel drive's heavy. Get Case' to help w/turbo My projects? 3 AE95's... 1 - White - daily, 2- Red - for off-road serious mods, 7agze bullbar, HKS piggyback, GCC & DLI twin ignition booster. Requires: custom intake/exhaust/, fmic & suspension lift. Need to fix: sun-roof, transplant central locking, cruise control and power windows plus respray ..long way to go.. Machine work's done on 7A block, flywheel/crank ..yet to assemble http://www.alltracwa...90158629/s-all/ https://picasaweb.go...687/7AFETO7AGZE 3 - Gun-metal (like yours) ...worn synchro's - intended for street. Getting this back on road with GZE & upgraded pulleys. Got workshop well set up.PM if you'd like to come over.. Like your mod's (engine conversion??)
  8. Thanks guys. Yeah I met Mick at all toyota winterfest and love what he's done with his ride.. Just needs to drop something more powerful under the hood and he's set. I was very impressed with how rigid his suspension is.. maybe a little too rigid.. I have 3 of these wagons.. one the same colour as Mick's, putting an old left over big port GZE into that.. not worried about the diff-lock as it will only see street use. But for the wagon I'm working on currently, truth is I haven't figured that problem out yet. I've seen Kebin mock up some central locking actuators, but even he said he didn't think it would be reliable. I've seen other photo's where the sc has been mounted on the exhaust side. So I'll consider doing a mock up that way to see if I can make it work ...but there's probably something compact and powerful enough to do the job out there somewhere.. will cross that bridge soon enough. Not sure about bazda's (MRP)coil overs as I'm going for some pretty serious suspension height. Using oversized wheels, different sized cog for speedo cable to reset speedo, RHS / SHS spacers for engine mounts and cross members, ae100 series cv shafts as they're longer and getting high tensile extensions machined up for the steering/tie rod gear. So I'll need a coil over with a lot of travel. Thinking of using something more commonly found from 4wd suppliers Spent much of the last 2 years researching / learning and buying parts and tools ..still very much a noob when it comes to cars but have years of welding fabrication, general engineering / maintenance experience. My link to 7AFE strip down - virtual 'How-to' https://picasaweb.go...687/7AFETO7AGZE More photo's to add.. I'm a bit slow on computers (and in the garage..)
  9. Nice mod's Mick - good to meet you and Case' at winterfest..
  10. Hi all, as the title suggests I've just joined and my interest is in the corolla AE95 4WD wagons... Currently putting together a 7AGZE. with a fair bit of machining under way.. as well as various items already purchased.. Have done a fair bit of research on raising front suspension (rear is a lot easier) Will be fitting a cusco rear lsd Currently researching E-series gear boxes and front lsd's... thinking a 6-speed would be nice but more research to go... any and all tips appreciated.. Thanks Jed
