  1. Hi Toyota Team I bought Second Hand Toyota Corolla; but have been taking it for servicing at Local Toyota Dealer. What I have noticed is that once you have changed the address or, if you are not the First owner; you never get the notification from Toyota regarding the fault and actions to take to mitigate the fire risk. When there was an issue with Toyota Yaris back in 2008; I found out about the driver's seat fire hazard only from the TV News. I had moved to a new address after I bought my car and the fire hazard notification wasn't received. I request Toyota to announce hazard risk information on TV; this will ensure mass population are aware and Toyota gets minimal damage claims.
  2. My corolla ZRE 152R 1.8 auto hatch gives me 450 to 480 KM per tank i.e. 55 litres . Driving is Inner city driving 40 to 60 KM/hr with constant start/stop and lots of idle waiting in the traffic lights. Is this what I should expect from my Corolla or, does it need tune up? My car is currenly showing 10.6 l/100km in dash. I only use Unleaded petrol not the very expensive like BP ultimate nor cheaper E10. I used to drive 1.3 yaris before and used to give me around 480 KM to 530 KM full tank i.e. 42 litres. Cheers
  3. I took my corolla ZRE 152 hatch automatic to a wrecker and got the Camry Steering wheel with Cruise control and Audio installed for $700 including labour and all parts. It included used steering wheel from Camry, a new SRS genuine camry airbag and a used clock spring. Installation took around one hour, removing old steering, aligning the wheel and putting in a new steering. Putting in a clock spring is a little tricky as it involves turning two and half times counter clockwise and again clockwise. I got this installed in August 2010 and still working fine without any problems. Saved myself $800. Dealers charge $1,500 for cruise pack which I think is a rip off. If you are very comfortable in removing the steering wheel; you can buy the OEM Cruise Stalk on ebay and just plug and play. there is already an existing slot to put the cruise stalk in the steering wheel and comes with pre-existing wiring. Once you plug and play the cruise wire; cruise LED light lights up automatically in the dash.
