Because sportivos have a fukin **** rear sussy setup... you cant even have fitment without chewing guards and tyres. the wheel doesnt camber in as the sussy compresses like civics, integras etc and most importantly of all, its a corolla... 'stanced' or not, its still a gay corolla lol kids these days... still trying too hard to follow trends oh and by all means go low. when you get pulled by a hwp (and you will sooner or later)... its roughly $385 fine, major defect (possibly tow your car home), requires a RWC to clear. i spent over $1300 to clear my defect just cos i was too low. do it man, cry and tell the cop how youre a sick knt and low is your lifestyle You sound like a *****. Anybody that thinks using "gay" as an adjective in the pejorative is appropriate is not worth listening to anyways.
  2. Part of the reason for this is that there are not that many options for lowered shocks for this vehicle. If people can't afford coilovers then they are really limited in what they can do. The 2 major shocks available for stivos are KYB(replacement strut) and Koni (strut insert) and neither are designed for lowering meaning 50mm is as low as you can go (although Koni and Kyb will say 40mm max). Bilstein do make a lowering shock that fits but it is damned expensive. I assume you are planning on going to coilovers? Why on earth would you want it to scrape?
  3. This gets quite complex, but in essence some oils hold together better than others with longer oil change intervals. Castrol Magnatec starts to break down early in comparison to many other oils and is one of the worst oils to miss a change interval with. If you are inclined then hop over to bob is the oil guy and have a read. Personally I avoid Castrol oils full stop, but most especially magnatec. If you look at a used oil analysis of Magnatec, compared to a like vehicle analysis of higher quality oil (Mobil 1, Shell Helix Ultra, Fuchs Titan Supersyn) you will see early indicators of wear in the magnatec. This is just another reason not to take you vehicle to dealers for service. No independent mechanic that (really) knows their stuff would put Magnatec in their customers cars. With all that said there is basically no oil on the market that will still be functioning effectively after 20000 kms in Australia.

  5. I assume that your point is that there should be different spring rates for the vehicles, which may be a valid consideration if setting up for track work. The OP has stated it is a daily driver, I would suggest Kings will be fine for that purpose. It’s not really a great chain of logic TBH, to suggest that because they use the same spring for 2 different vehicles you shouldn’t use them. I bet pretty much every spring manufacturer uses the same springs for a variety of different vehicles. In fact, I’d say that you’d need to go to a custom spring maker to guarantee that you are getting something specifically designed for your vehicle, but there again spring rates will be something that varies according to taste and what the vehicle is being used for…. Also, isn't the OP's vehicle a ZZ??

  7. Just pull the injen thing out, and put the stock air box back in being very careful to make sure all hoses etc are reconnected properly and that your MAF sensor is clean. You are not going to make any more power with the injen anyways,

  9. That's actually incorrect. Kings R&D department is disproportional to the size of the business, and vehicle weight, along with stock vs final dynamics are a consideration before making springs available for any vehicle. This is no different than any other spring works if you think that anyone else is specifically designing springs for every single vehicle out there you are mistaken. I have installed kings on literally hundreds of cars, and have never once had a complaint. I've also had Kings in a lot of my own vehicles. I use Pedders coilovers these days, but would not hesitate to put Kings in any of my cars...

  17. You really need to experiment with your car, tyres and the track you are on. 40+ is to high for street tyres, you will end up with less surface area on the track. As a general rule I'd go with 38 +1/-2...
  18. Notwithstanding the fact that Toyota branded oil is magnatec with a slightly different additive package, most dealers I have been involved with don't bother and buy the cheaper magnatec. You can find empty magnatec barrels out the back...

Timing belts will usually add AT LEAST 1 hour on to service time plus the belt is usually $90.00ish so straight up theres and extra $220.00 on top of a basic service price but as is perviousply mentioned in most moddles post 2000 they are only done at 150,000kms service if they are fitted at all. My point was that the service cost is hardly excessive across the life of a vehicle. The OP seems to be of the opinion that timing chains are without problems, which is incorrect...

  22. This is really disappointing. Considering that Toyota's major competition has caught up (and in some cases exceeded) on build quality, Toyota need to recognize that their markets will evaporate if they don't maintain an edge. The Koreans are already selling vehicles of comparative build, and if this is how Toyota are dealing with known technical issues, then it really makes you question them. My wife's car is due to be upgraded, and we are looking at getting a seven seater. Should I give the Kluger a wide berth?
