  2. It would be wise to get the clutch pedal adjusted first as it is cheaper, but i have herd the problem may come back in a short time. This did nothing to both my stivos. Although many members here have had success (I dont get it still, you'd think the remedy would work on them all). So my next step was to get the clutch replaced under warranty on my first sivo (as it was bought new). And for the other stivo i had to use my credit card to get the exedy HD installed (i piad way too much $850) as it was a private sale. I really beleive the clutch replacement is a 99.9% chance of working (landing above 6k with ease). I think you'd pay $600+ for the kit and installation
  3. I purchased my 2nd sportivo 2 months ago. And i knew before i bought it it would have this issue. So i had the clutch replaced for exedy HD, and all problems solved! I know cause i have done this twice! I have had my tranny oil replaced, thined out, had my clutch pedal adjusted and been through 6 months of fighting with toyota. The end result both times was to replace the clutch Its not your driving.. Its very common, dont let people bag your driving when they havent seen you drive. Good luck with it :D
  4. I drive the 03 sportivo with cai I just got 667kms out of my tank of shell v-power And that was a mix of hwy & city driving. I have never got such good results with any other fuel, thats just my experience. I imagine the cai would have helped too.
  5. just got the trd grill, so im up for this too..
  6. So with FC + tune around 8k. That would be really fast, and a thrill to drive. Its stroked to 2 liters right? I wonder how it would compare to a S2000 They put out 250hp at the fly too!
  7. What price did toby say for this mod? Tuned and fitted.
  8. So would stivo owners need to worry about emissions or exceeding past the 90 decibels when installing a CAI? I've herd the epa reads a sound level from any engine @ 3,000 rpms.. thats for vic i take it.
  9. Is the cat somewhat responsible for exhaust note? If its remove will there be a noticable sound difference?
  10. Me, I dont do enough here, as i now visit this site once every 6 months.
  11. Yes. They charged $50 to machine the flywheel, and they changed the trans oil (as i think they have too but i could be wrong). And it was the HD clutch kit.
  12. i rang around heaps of places and he was the cheapest, most quotes were around $1100. Apparently it takes 5 hours to do.. Oh well could have saved a couple of hundred by i was eager to get it done.
  13. Hey all, I sold my celica 2zz, (i now have an s2k). And just purchased a 03 Corolla sportivo with 95k for $17,500 (awesome deal!) for my GF. The rolla had the sticky gear changes and was impossible to shift in to any gear cleanly above 7k. Installed the new excedy clutch and its like a new car again I Can easily land lift every gear. All for $900 at Malven auto tech Glen Iris (melb). I recommend these guys for clutch replacement. Ask for Brad.
  14. sheez it been a while man. I remember our first cruise :D I'd be up for it, although im not toyota anymore.
  15. Went down to drag tag tonite to check out all the fuss. Its actually quite cool. You have 1/4 mile drag racing between 3 people in a virtual world. With your very own ride. 2 drags each for 50 bucks. Your car is held down by a small modification (bracket welded to your suspension) that locks you down so you dont dance around when on the pedal. There is 3 bays with a massive screen that tapers around you in each bay. You have an active speed/kw/tourqe/time guage that is in sync with you car. The lights go green and your reaction time is recorded as you dump the clutch, you can break traction if you give too many revs at take off or push it too hard like in the real world. It's all indoors so you have weather conditions that are perfect 24/7. There's even high speed fans infront of every car, so you cant cook your motor. It's very much like grand turismo, it has that feel. It's very accurate too, if you can run a 14.5 sec 1/4mile time, you will get the same at drag tag. Theres circut racing in the making and even drifting to come in the near future.. Only thing is it doesn't have g forces, but i dont think they can repilcate that. I give it 9 out of 10 - 20 million well spent.
