  3. So to begin i am a new member of the forum. My name is Ryan, i recently graduated with my auto tech degree. i have grown up around cars but just got the recent joy of owning my own te72:) A couple of months ago i bought a 1981 Corolla Liftback, brown, low miles, very minor rust, and i have been loving it( espicially for 500$). i will have pictures up tomorrow! About a week ago i go to hop in my car and it starts to crank then almost sounds like a short somewhere happened. i tried to start it again and nothing, and i mean nothing. the only thing that worked are my headlights, horn and flashers(which are all on a different circut that everything else) So i get it towed home and get all into it and i find the wire going into my fuse box from my positive battery cable that is supposed to be the fusible link is kinda fried at the end. i figure the fusible link is bad and ill be on my way. Oh no. i get to looking and the wiring harness (going from the fuse box by the battery into the fender) one of the connectors was fried on one of the pins( happened to be my ign. switch wire) What would cause this? shouldn't the fusible link stopped it from shorting any more wire? I went to the junkyard and got a new fuse box, and a quad headlight assembly:))) tomorrow i am going to see what i can figure out and i will be posting allot of pictures!!!!! ANY help or second opinions are greatlt appriciated!!!!
