Putting a facelift bumper on a pre facelift rolla?
T.J replied to vort's topic in Corolla / Corolla Sportivo Club
yes and i belive he tried to sell me his old grill to lol! facelift conversion is simple you just need the parts previosly mentioned you may get away without changing the radiator support panel if you cant then it gets more complicated but with the cost of buying all the replacement parts itll cost you a bomb anyway -
saw a red stivo with the aero grill and eyelids lowered on stock rims yesterday arvo on pacific hwy and again at horsby station carpark this morning. saw another stivo looked the same but was blue out round st ives on burns road i think? cant think of the street name and also saw a whole bunch of silver sportivos round my area hornsby seems to be crawling with silver ones

fibreglass front bar modification..
T.J replied to JJCRU23R's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
you know what i took my car in to get the dent in the bumper repaired the assessor just called and turns out itll take them a week to repair the front bar so i guess it must take a long time to fix something lucky im not paying for it -
ill have what he's having lol! so hows it sound? and whered you get it done?
-
yeah if they can pick that its been modified. redrilling the rotors sure sounds like a mod that should be done by an engineer i cant see why you couldnt do it as rollamods said as long as theres enough meat around the holes it should be fine just gotta remember if theres any force transfered to the edge of the hole via the stud its the braking force divided by 4 so as long as its done correctly and professionally i doubt youll have any issues with an engineer giving it the ok but id consult with one first. as most part manufacturers would tell you if their product is altered in anyway or used differently to what they were specified then you become the manufacturer basically so any problems from that means your resposible bla bla ill shut up now

fibreglass front bar modification..
T.J replied to JJCRU23R's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
hmmm still seems like a long time to make it a custom fit but hey if the place that made it specifically for the car actually tested it before it was produced then it would have been easier for you. but your right it does look good real good id want one too if i wasnt dirt poor if it took over a week to make fit right id be concerned about the hours they might charge for it too -

um....its dead dude did it fire up again after it stopped? anything could have gone wrong with that so many different things that could have failed or broken we need more info to give a concise answer -
yeah 14% just from changing the air filter sounds too far fetched ive got one havent really noticed any gains i mainly liked the idea that everytime i needed an air filter instead of paying 100 bucks for a genuine one i could just clean this one Thanks for the input. I have a friend that has a workshop with a dyno so I will post the results before and after install. it would be interesting to see what gains overall you find with the test if it is close to %14 different models would have different results id imagine

im in NSW. what kinda things does your guy do? youve been PM -------------- and another thing.. this front bar has already been cut because theres a reinforcement bar in the way of it fitting right. carmate and other places like sinex body kits say it has to either be removed or cut! what would happen if i removed it or cut it???? hmmm well the reinforcement its made of foam isnt it? i dont know what the insurance implications are with modifying a crash absorbing part despite the fact that its probably only to keep the bars shape have you tried fitting it up yet? -
maybe its feeling insecure lol! could be the master lock on the drivers door isnt working right and locks as normal but as you walk off cause the lock jambed up it unlocked the doors i know this is common with commodores cept they start honking at you if the lock jambs up. another thing could be the alarm might be faulty my ae92 had an alarm that for some odd reason would go off every morning around 10am if i was at home it was due to the heat of the morning sun i put it down to so i took it out..........then it gets stolen...........F&$%!

I am considering transplanting a 2zz motor into my MR2, but also to stroke it. Anybody with knowledge on the stroking side? Heard one can use the 1zz crank, and then simply find rods with suitable length. This would assist with low end grunt. only thing bout that is it possibly wont rev as hard one of the traits of the 2zz is its a square bore the stroke is as long as the bore is wide which allows it to handle such high revs doesnt mean it cant be done though not totally true about not being able to rev as hard ...... the MWR stroker which utilizes the 1zz crank has many guys in the US sticking their rev limit @ over 8500 rpms do they increase the bore size or just the stroke? wonder how much extra length of the stroke they get out of it have u seen a 2zz bottom end ? there is no way that i think u could increase the bore size safely and still maintain the structural integrity of the block ..... below are some pics of my engine when it was getting built ... the first 2 pics are before the iron sleeves went in .... the last pic is when the sleeves were put in ..... as u can see not much to play with to be able to increase bore. i see what you mean mind you ive never pulled a 2zz down yet so i havent seen it first hand

the uk market usually gets some pretty crazy stuff cause theyre allowed to mod their cars to a higher level that what we do here so i wouldnt be surprised if they get them over there first probably worth watching the uk market. on the other hand my freind tells me there might be something available soon here. -
damn straight! some stupid kid tryin to play hero some people just dont get it theres a time and a place for that caper. with people pulling that kind of crap no wonder the police target people who like to tweak their cars but i dare say its a problem with no solution its been the same deal for years
