I am considering transplanting a 2zz motor into my MR2, but also to stroke it. Anybody with knowledge on the stroking side? Heard one can use the 1zz crank, and then simply find rods with suitable length. This would assist with low end grunt. only thing bout that is it possibly wont rev as hard one of the traits of the 2zz is its a square bore the stroke is as long as the bore is wide which allows it to handle such high revs doesnt mean it cant be done though not totally true about not being able to rev as hard ...... the MWR stroker which utilizes the 1zz crank has many guys in the US sticking their rev limit @ over 8500 rpms do they increase the bore size or just the stroke? wonder how much extra length of the stroke they get out of it

they recommend that brake fluid is changed every 2 years regardless of kms but if its due for an 80k service they should change the fluid as part of the service you may have to check with the place your having the service done to confirm that theyre actually going to change it for you. on another note i drove a 2002 wagon a few weeks back and getting out of my car and basically straight into the wagon i could tell there was a significant difference in braking i felt i had to apply alot more effort to get it to stop maybe thats just the way they are

How much will it cost to get it done right? And for lowering, just springs will do? No need to replace suspension?? no need to replace the suspension the springs only drop the car an inch and a 1/2 when you go lower than 2 inches is when youd consider changing the shocks i dont know how low this models shocks will go without the pistons bottoming out and stuffing the shocks. cost? no idea prolly $150 i always do my own fitting but i think pedders tried to charge me that ages ago so thats all ive got to go on

isnt there a special film you can have fitted to the front of your car to stop it from being sandblasted? it goes on clear and looks a damn site better than a car bra

Its so it looks stock :P to the untrained eye who doesnt notice the f&*% off blow off valve in plain veiw there but otherwise it looks presentable iv looked at throwing a turbo at mine but put it in the too hard box for the meantime a guy who i went to school with apparently makes kits up for lotus conversions maybe i should let him have a look at it and see what he thinks

New Corolla (ZRE) Owners - Opinions

hahaha if it could get traction! still think the 32 may be too much for it anyway -
yeah id do it only because after all the times ive worked in dealerships half then places dont do things like that even if you pay for them at least if you mark the tyres youll have proof if they dont do it not slagging off dealerships or anything but they arent always shining examples for workmanship
-
easiest solution i had in mind you get a headlight from pick and payless thats got its lense smashed theyll probably just give it to you and practice on that that way if it doesnt turn out you wont ruin your own headlights where do u get that? :D what a broken headlight? the wreckers out at blacktown

that is exactly how i did it. i sanded the chrome. but not all of the chrome but enough so the new paint sticks on. then did the eash procedure with wax and grease remover and all that stuff. i used black vynil spray in matt. so expect it to take a minimum of 6 hours. vynil spray eh? i wasnt sure which one to use there isnt much out there in spray cans for gloss black thatll withstand high heat best option i figured was to use 2k gloss but i havent got a way to get power to my air compressor and itll make too much noise so can it is cant do it now anyway it wont stop freakin raining

nice at least they did the right thing by you hopefully this one wont give you any trouble

you should get your wheels ballanced to maintain even tyre wear (they reccomend to do this every 10,000kms) youll know when you need rebalancing cause your car will shudder when your driving on the freeway. they should do those checks when you take it to toyota anyway but they wont rotate and balance the wheels unless you request it done when you book it in. and should you do this i suggest you mark the inside facing sidewall with a bit of paint on your front tyres so you know that they have actually rotated the tyres thats up to you to decide just out of experience

i know eh lol! the grill looks pretty camp but the eyelids and even the front skirt looks good

ye i thought about buying a set of headlights before i did mine but it costs to bloody much so i just did it with my standarx ones. ive heard people do it and have the headlights back on in like 5 hours. i dont kno if they did bodgy jobs or not but i did everything properly and took my time doing it and all up it took me about 8-9 hours believe it or not. i removed both headlights and painted and then put them back on the car in one night. i also had 2 people helping me out. and i also swore not to do it EVER again. yeah 5-6 hours sounds right it depends on the cure time for the paint id rather make sure the finish is right before i put it back together though but then im going to sand off the chrome and paint the area gloss black so i want it to turn out right

i really want to do this with mine i was thinkin getting a cheap set of second hand headlamps so i dont have to worry bout throwin the car back together in a hurry may even do a how to guide or possibly do sets on exchange for those who arent keen to get theyre hands dirty. for those worried bout stuffing the paintjob up your painting onto chrome so itll be easy to clean off with thinners or possibly even acetone and redo
