My dashboard has actually lifted a bit, on the passenger side. Its painfully obvious because when you look at it against the windscreen you can tell one side is higher than the other i.e. not equal

nah man...What exactly do you mean? Has the smart key system changed? I thought you just put your hand on the door handle and it automatically unlocks as long as you have the keyfob on you. At least, its how it works on my 08 ZR6
wat i mean is...
let say yr dropping yr mate off to his/her place at night... so you dont need to get out of yr car..but the new locking sys is ****, where the driver has to press the unlock button in order to unlock all the doors...where as previously, or in the case of my 2008 landcruiser...one would simply open the door by pulling the INTERIOR handle and the door would unlock...
so im assuming theres no where around the fiddling with the locking system, but i presume one would have altered the button, and made is shine in darkest of nights, where one would not get frustrated by the smallest thing, yet it turns out to be the biggest pain in the *****
Ah yeah I get ya..the unlock button is pretty small I will admit as well

Then as above, you should be able to get a locksmith to cut and programme for you

Is it a smart key or regular key?

You can buy the Blade here in NZ as a matter of fact. Its not a vehicle on Toyota NZs website, but there are always a few models floating around on used car sale sites

Bump for those who might be looking for this

Us Brissie fellas don't like to talk about it, but I doubt he'll be returning to the forums.
Im relatively new to the forums, I notice he used to be quite active here up until a short while ago, just curious what happened?

Where is DJKOR these days?

There are many threads on this in the forum regarding aftermarket headunits/systems that will fit the Aurion. I believe Eonon make a unit specifically for the Camry (Same as the Aurion), you could have a look at that
-
Please do Help. It is much appreciated. I cant get a normal answer from anywhere. Plus if i can at least find the parts to add up the price that would be great. But i cant even get that. I Searched the whole australian search for it. Nothing. You guys dont have like a parts site for the 2012 model? I can find parts for my camry on like 9433453453464634 different sites. The 2012 Aurion 0 Sites. Its insane. So please HELP! S.O.S. .. ... .. <- Morse Code :D
Try calling a Toyota dealer and ask for the parts?

I'm surprised at the replies this thread has got
I think I haven't been clear to some I was talking about the covers for the engine bay not the engine cover with the Lexus logo I thought the covers on the sides with the stock engine cover painted black would be a nice mod to help with the clean look of my prodigy i just threw it up as I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere here and thought it would of been a good conversation
As for the pieces I was just curious as I found the front over the radiator and left side for about 200 shipped (couldn't find the right side) and was curious what people thought.
Ahh lol that makes much more sense, guess I should have read it a bit more carefully and made the link with the photo and the black engine bay covers

Mine are a bit off as well..right hand tip sits slightly lower than the left one. It isnt a big issue but it does niggle me every time I look at it
-
Seems like a waste of time to me. Just more crap in the way when you want to work on your car...
not really, the engine cover is simple enough to remove
So...it's not in the way because it's simple to remove? I like your logic!
Well.. not to me. All it is simply pull up and off the cover comes, then set it aside. Its really not a big deal. Plus, makes the engine bay look a bit tidier.

It was around $1100 I was shocked to learn the cost of a new tail light, (I seriously hope they don't ever break.) I can't imagine it costing Toyota more than $100 to manufacture them and yet they extort us for over $1000...just shocking

Wire it to the park lights

The Parkers come on because the sensor is telling it that it's dark enough to have the Parkers on but not low beams. If you left it on auto it would eventually turn the low beams on.
Yes that was my first impression, but theres been one time or two where it was definately dark enough for low beams and only the parkers came on
-
@TARD yes i found that after I posted the topic, my bad should have searched it. But that still doesn't explain why sometimes only the parkers go on and not the low beams.
I don't have a dashmat, I have cleaned the sensor multiple times but I will take it to Toyota to have it looked at sometime. I don't think the parker light issue is anything to do with the level of darkness as its been pitch black sometimes when I get up at 6am to get to work, and the auto function only turned on the parkers.
I'll try the battery reset and see if that gets anywhere.
cheers

So about the auto headlights, not sure if all models have them but I'm having a bit of trouble with mine. First problem is that even when its dark enough to require headlights they don't switch on, which means I have to turn them on manually. Can that be adjusted? Second issue is that sometimes when the auto function does work, it only switches on the side lights and not the low beam, and cycling from low beam to park lights then back to auto does not do anything. Again requiring me to manually go to low beam...Any ideas why?

I have exactly the same model in Inferno orange, I was always aware it was never full leather, as it isn't Lexus branded or the like. The outer parts of the seats are all leather, with the part you sit on is vinyl. Im pretty sure the steering wheel is polyurethane, even though it has real stitching all around. I do not have a problem with it, as the equivalent cars, the XR6 and SV6 don't even have leather seats or the like. I'm quite happy with my ZR6, fake leather or not, dual air con and power seats (something late model XR6 and SV6s still don't have to my understanding)

I know this is an old thread, but thankfully oldmate just above me bumped it already :)
If it's not an alignment/balance/tyre shape/rotor issue, then get the CVs checked. I was getting some very gnarly wobbling feedback at speeds above 40kph, but not all the time, and in the end it was because one CV had lost all its grease (what the?), so one of the bearings had started wearing an indent inside the joint.
Speaking of the CVs, when are they normally replaced? Mine was an ex company car, so it was serviced according to the plan I assume.
-
thats pretty ambitious...as prodigy 07 said it would be easier to import an Aurion from Australia or NZ.

Hey also Defyant, are your side mirror indicators LEDs?

Why? I don't really see the need for them. I just set one temperature and one fan setting when i start the car and it usually stays like that for the whole journey, occasionally lowering the fan speed once or twice.
