  1. Hey all i was just perusing the assortment of usual stuff on eBay, kinda came across these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OBDMATE-OM500-JOBD-OBDII-EOBD-Car-Diagnostic-Scan-Tool-OBD2-Code-Reader-/291205296575?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43cd3031bf I'm curious if anyone knows a) If they are any good B) If they will work on my car? Plus any other opinions and advice.
  2. Yeah, I ended up doing the same. Worked out fine.
  3. So i've got a shiny new headunit to upgrade what i currently have my my car the new one has an orange/white wire in the harness i believe its supposed to dim the lights on the headunit when you turn your headlights on. I have a 2000 Corolla and i'm not sure if i have somewhere or where i should connect this orange/white wire just wondering if anyone might have any ideas? Here is a picture of the wire i'm talking about in the wiring diagram.
  4. Wow now this will be reviving an old thread! Anyway i'm googling around to see if my 2000 Corolla supports OBD2, there is a port to the right under the steering column and also one in the engine bay. But im not 100% sure that the car actually supports OBD2, im kind of afraid to plug in this OBD2 adapter i have in case if it doesn't support OBD2 it might break something. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great.
  5. so basically what your saying is the only right way to do this is to replace the ECU?
  6. As the title says im looking for one of these front lips (like the picture).
  7. fair enough, i really have no idea to start with this kind of thing. Thanks for the help.
  8. Cool, now I know to give up on that idea and focus on real things! Maybe a Pod air filter :)
  9. Just curious what do you guys make of this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Toyota-Corolla-OBD-Performance-Flash-Chip-/220640095260?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2000%7CModel%3ACorolla&vxp=mtr&hash=item335f2cac1c Would it make much of a difference? worth the money? not going to f*** anything up? I thought it could possibly be a simple way to get a bit of extra go without spending a huge amount and having to do any major mods.
  10. time to revive the old thread :P Been thinking maybe just throwing on a levin front lip would look nice (cheaper too?) anywhere know where i might find one of these?
  11. i've got a 2000 corolla ultima, i was able to turn it off by switching the ignition a few times and pressing the lock/unlock button remote thing. I've got the central locking manual in my car and could upload a picture if your still interested.
  12. Ahh ok, i wasn't sure i've never seen the pre-face lift version, thanks for all the help.
  13. so be 100% clear this is not the bug eyed one?
  14. Alright, thanks for the reply. What exactly is the bug eyed version btw?
  15. Hi, I have a 2000 corolla ultima (ae112r If I'm correct) I was googling some pictures and things, I have seen some similar corollas, the sportivo ones and they have a nice looking body trim on them. All the pictures appear to be hatches though, I also took a look at the ae110 Levin corollas which looked cool. So what I'm wonder is it possible to say get the sportivo trim and chuck it on my car? Or maybe the Levin trim?? I really just curious to see if I could make my car look cooler. Maybe if not these there are some other alternatives . Thanks
  16. So this wiring would be correct then? http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/2067.html
  17. Would i have to buy a wiring harness? or could i make my own? like i have no problem soldering some wires together or anything i just would have to be sure that im connecting the rights ones. Finding this information is hard though :S
  18. Hey, So I have a 2000 Corolla Ultima which I would like to install an aftermarket Kenwood head unit in. I was hoping I could get some information about wiring the head unit and installing it in this particular car. Through some reading it sounds as if I remove the air vents under the head unit area and then I can unscrew some screws and pull out the stock head unit? Any help would be great thanks.
