Hi All, My Toyota just started to leak some oil before it's 140,000 service. After service and inspection Toyota says that the Rear Main Seal needs to be repalced at a cost of $1350 approx. I already paid $350 for the service. I planned to sell the car but now postponed it due to this issue. Can anyone suggest any good mechanics in Northern Suburbs. Or any other ideas to get out of this situation. Thanks

I have a 2008 Toyota Kluger Grande AWD with 140000+ on odometer. Today when I was reversing the car in garage I saw some oil for the first time. I opened the bonnet and the engine looked clean so I searched an ended up this forum where you mention about oil leak recall. Can you please provide the details of guide what needs to be done. Never had any leaks before and car is due for service which I will get soon. I would appreciate your reply.

Hi Guys, I bought a used Kluger Grande 2008 AWD about 2 months ago from a private seller with 124,000 KM on ODO with almost full service history (just the 30,000 was not done for some reason). Recently I have started getting the above mentioned noise and I have tried the technique mentioned by "RICE RACING" but to no avail. I went to Toyota and they said if it's the CamShaft Gear issue it could cost $2000 to $2500 as it's a 3 day job. Guy said the problem is there in these models. Now if it's something that Toyota made with a fault. Toyota should be fixing it right? Why the consumer had to face these costs? I am taking the car to the Toyota Dealer on Wednesday to inspect ($120) if the issue is of the CamShaft Gear or something else. I would appreciate if you guys can suggest what should be done in this situation?
