  1. It should fit fine, I work at Toyota we swap them all the time, usually SR5 bumper to workmate(so you get a body coloured bumper and fog lights), so SR5 to SR would be fine.
  2. I feel the traction control in the Aurion is either coming in too late or just cut off the power I drive quite some old cars with no traction control, it doesn't hop just lots of wheel spin. However, in the dry the car just grips fine. in the wet with the wide foot print tyres I'm having right now is okay until around 4000 rpm then the hop just come like crazy. I do try to be a lot more careful on the right foot in the wet though. But some road surface just want to play skipping rope with me :) Its happening around 4000rpm cause that's very close to the rpm an Aurion's peak torque comes on
  3. I'm an apprentice at my local Toyota dealership and I'd have to say get the Auto, I can't recall ever having one come in with a problem, the manuals go through clutch's really quickly no matter how you drive them. Or if you are hearing bad things on the 4 speed auto the new hilux with the 5 star crash rating is apparently coming with a 5 speed auto similar if not basically the same as whats in the prado which again I've never seen a problem with.

    After an lsd

What about the detroit truetrac do you know if its any good?
  5. I'm assuming you had insurance? And 4-5 weeks seems awhile for the head unit.
  6. Did they climb in through the window? Usually when a lock is opened from the inside with the car still locked it will set the alarm off.

    After an lsd

So I'm after an lsd for my old luxy. According to the plate in the engine bay the code of the diff in there now is G292 so its a 'G' series diff with 4.10:1 ratio and a 2 pinion open centre. I just want to know my options in terms of putting an lsd in? Edit: I'm thinking of a detroit truetrac.
  8. No the towbar was fitted by an independant fitter and since then the sensors go off not every time but most times I reverse. Do you have pictures you could put up at all? If you do that would really help.
  9. I'm an apprentice mechanic at my local Toyota, all that happens is we take the switch out grease it up a little with the proper stuff(some people were putting normal grease on the switches when they were sticking) then put it back together with tamper proof screws, so if something goes wrong with the switch it will have to be replaced.
  10. Are they going off as if you have backed up really close to something? If so they may be sensing the top of the tow bar. Did you have the tow bar fitted at a Toyota dealer? If you had it fitted by Toyota I would take it back and explain the problem to them, if it is because of the placement of the tow bar they should fix it free of charge. If its not because of the tow bar, is your car still under warranty?
  11. I was faced with same problem when I first purchased mine. I recently installed a Pioneer MVH-1450UB ($103 from supercheap on special) as well as two Fusion 4" 2 way full range speakers and I can say the sound is absolutely 100 times better than stock. Also the sizes are great and the new head unit and speakers fit perfectly into the stock mounts.

    New rims

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows a nice looking set of rims for my HiLux, the only other thing other then looking alright is I want to get load rated ones so that everything is still good for insurance and what not if the car is ever in an accident. Thanks 91Luxy
  13. Did it remove all of the crap or can it still be seen?
  14. Thanks heaps for the info and yeah defiantly wasn't going cheap option i want it down properly.
  15. Hi, and thanks. I had a look today and there was no corrosion on the actual headlights, I fixed the problem slightly last night as I found the headlight adjustment screws however they still are not very bright.
