Am not a mechanic, but a DIY. If fan belt I would check the Tension of same, ie is the belt tight enough. On our Echo after purchase a belt tensioner seemed to make a noise (in the car yard pre sale probably was not driven much), If these are loose or worn they can make a noise. Peter

Anybody have a digital copy of the Owners manual. Just found out today that I have a second button on the suto gear shift that puts the car into another gear when going over 80Km/hr. Prefer 1999/2000 manual but any would be better than none. Peter

Have a 1999 Echo with a glove box in place of the passenger air bag, the dash mat for this vehicle has some form of dash mat with a flap. If you have such a vehicle could you pm me a picture as am not sure of how it looks. Alternatively has anybody removed this plastic box and replaced it with the fitting used in the later Echos so can fit the later dash mat that to me would look better. Thanks Peter

Hi bassslayer Re the manual, Have a 1999 5D Auto, could you 'pm' me re a Free Download manual Website, downloaded stuff from Poland and never seemed to get the manual but collected another 3 or 4 programs. Thanks Peter
