  1. Hey. I have a sportivo exactly like you but it blue..05 model I just installed a weapon r intake on Thursday to it Cost me $280 delivered from San Francisco got in 6 days. They are made in the USA. I bought it off eBay but on the invoice I got. It came from weapon r Directly. They add power. The proof is in the pudding. Sounds wicked too. There are other ones around. K&N typhoon . Injen air intake. And some other not so good. Depends on how much money you want to spend. I think they are worth it. Your car will drive much better.
  2. toyota should put a high flow supercharged or turbocharged version of the 2ar-fe in it. keeping it 4 cyl because camrys are 4 cyl. turbocharged dual vvti...hmmmmmm same motor with a turbo on it. i reckon they'd sell well.
  3. by the sounds of it, you want to make it look classy. replace the wheels with a later model ones, the aurion presara wheels, make it look more top spec. dark tint the windows and replace the grille with a chrome one. buy some b-pillar chrome covers. to match the chrome you already have on top of the door panels. theres so many options, just dont make it look tacky, it can be done, when you put something on and if you intially think it looks tacky and ****. well it probably is!
  4. Hey, this will help with your sludge! : buy 2 bottles of oil. a bottle of cheap crap. and a bottle of your normal oil, : a bottle of engine flush : 2 oil filters. perform 2 oil changes. drain the oil when its warm, its runnier and will empty your motor out better. put in the cheap oil and the engine flush, had the filter, run it for 15 minutes. drain that out when it warm. put in the good oil and filter. you might have to flush it a few times with cheap oil if you need to, you want to clean the inside of your motor.. much cheaper than a mechanic's opinion. now check your pcv valve, if this is clogged it will cause your engine to sludge and rob performance. on your valve cover there will be a hose attached to it. pull the hose off and undo the pcv ( has a barb )usually a 22 mm or similar its a one way valve so it is designed to only let pressure out , not in, they are quite cheap. repco should sell them.
  5. it is possible to replace them. but they are lil lights on a electronic board. if you pull it out and have a look you'll see what i mean. you have to solder new ones on. heres a picture to get a idea of what your dealing with you could just go to the wrecker and get a new one, their just plug and play.
  6. yea i was thinking that. you know everything i see a car that doesn't have badges on it make me think its had a rear ender. and they haven't put the badges on. just a thought. i reckon it would look frickin cool. thats why i just bought some of ebay. just then. there originals. not reproductions.
  7. hey i got a gen 5 camry sportivo 05 model has anyone put gen 6 decals/badges on there gen 5 before. the ones on the car have started to turn rubbish and break but cant find any on the net to replace them Just thought it would look pretty cool with them, anyone else seen this done? these ones and the VVT-I on the front guards.
  8. I used to see johns car in sunnybank when I used to live down there last year. Never saw it on the road just parked at a undisclosed location :). I was looking at one of those led badges. Probably get one and runs it with the low beam. Is it very bright? My lights look as if the lens is damaged from the inside. Like really small scratches/cracks/pitting. Anyone else? And as for Andrew. Supercharged v6. Saw your video somewhere. She's got some grunt! :)
  9. Geeez for that price did you tell them to ram it fair up there ### :)
  10. Yea I thinking something like Salisbury wreakers. Do they still let you pull it yourself. If I'm gonna do it ill probably get a shop to fit it all. I don't really have the tools and correct materials. Plus they have an engine crane and such
  11. Sounds like a weekend job for me and my brother. I'm guessing all the mounting points would be already there for clutch and the other stuff. Anyone done this? I'll just raid a wreakers for parts.
  12. Nah I dont like changing gears anymore. There's worked Scion tc turbos running the same tranny. They can cope with it. I would look at a possible manual conversion. You reckon I could do it without pulling the motor
  13. I'm not surprised. I read somewhere that the Camry built here is bigger than ones made elsewhere. Dimensions and what not. I guess u found out the hard way they don't mount properly. Good u didn't go drilling New holes anyway.
  14. yea it would, but that came with the v6 option. or ateva option im gonna change my grille though. looking at the pictures. make it look a bit more evil... muuaahh
  15. I thought about buying some of those aftermarket halo's http://www.carid.com/2005-toyota-camry-headlights/ there affordable. cheaper than a pair of replacements.
  16. lets hope one of them could do us a deal on a turbo setup if they work in a shop.. of course! you want a set of those headlights for your aurion or something else. would they fit? man i gotta do something with these lights though, there getting couldy. anybody used that headlight restorer?.
  17. i know alternators cause things to shutdown. because the alternator isnt sending charge back to the battery the whole car is running off the battery. a reconditioned alternator plus fitting is about $330+ but look.. if it starts, see if you can drive it to a auto electrician and explain to them what happened. they wont charge you to look, they'll probably put a multi-meter to your alternator and battery to check for charge. the battery charge when running should be above 12, but 13 is great. before you do this. pull your fuse box cover off (to the right of your battery) and check if the all the fuses are bedded in properly. check in the dash fuse box too, (under your steering wheel to the right theres a lil lid) just giving you some advice. it doesn't sound like anything major. but its a dangerous problem.
  18. yea i am, it shouldn't be to hard, i've just gotta get a piggyback ecu for it, which could be a hassle, you know of any that are compatible? what are your plans for this? what were you gonna do.? get a shop to do a custom setup or do it yourself, ebay kit are good for the basic setup. probably wouldnt use the turbo, wastegate and intercooler though.
  19. hey fellas, heres some snaps of my camry, I bought it around christmas 2011. and have now started doing modifications to it. heres a list of the mods so far 18 x 8.5 M-15 wheels wrapped in 235 x 45 x 18 yokohama low tein springs monroe gt gas shocks all round alpine 6 x 9 in front doors alpine 6 x 9 on back parcel shelf cheap sub box alpine 800w amp installed under front passenger seat super white led park lights ive just completed a full lube service on engine oil and auto trans fluid, keep waxed and washed regulary. but am going to give it a cut and polish soon, as it might look really smick and shiny, but i know it needs one. so does my brother (panelbeater) Does anyone know where i could score a set of factory sportivo floor mats from, the fronts ones i have are totalled im looking at a possible turbo set up in the future, the 2azfe is a great engine for this. and responds well to forced induction, they turn into torque monsters. tell us what you think , thanks!
