Hello i will answer my question yes they have the same handbrake setup as camry, as my idiot mate lives in kambalda i found out the bang was the motor going yes he votes labor labored his car to death.

Spigot bearing or front gearbox bearing both pricey.

It sounds like a engine mount plus check your CV joints and front wheel bearings let us know if you find the problemo.cheers

As you should know Avalon have a foot operated hand brake yes the idiot left it on and drove a long way untill it went bang The question is have they the same set up as a camry hand brake, eg the hand brake shoes in the center of the rear disc.

Has the avalon got the same rear hand brake set up as a 2001 camry, as my mate left his foot brake on for a long drive and it went bang he is a dumb idoit cheers.

Yes I have used Dynamat on both of my cars with some reduction in noise has anyone used dynamat under the front plastic inner gaurds (on the inside) to reduce road noise cheers.
