  1. Slight update to come.. Just in relation to the Toyota link app, Toyota have replied to a few people on their Facebook page, who have questioned the fact that pandora is about to be rendered useless and the lack of app update/s. Have seen Toyota's social rep respond with : "We are aware of Pandora's® plans to leave the Australian market and unfortunately as a result, the Pandora in-vehicle functionality via Toyota Link will cease to operate from July 31st, 2017. Toyota Australia will make an update available to remove the Pandora app from vehicles that have this app installed. This update will be available through the Apple® App Store® and Google Play™ by the 31st of July. We are dedicated to providing guests with the latest technology and experiences when owning a Toyota vehicle. Our team is working to ensure an alternative music streaming service can be introduced to replace Pandora®, we will advise all guests as soon as this has been completed. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. If you'd like to talk to a member of our Guest Experience Team further about this update you can reach them on 1800 869 682 (Mon to Fri 8.30am - 5:30pm AEST). Thanks, Toyota Australia." So a potential app/maybe in car software update to come in the next few weeks.. But at this point it only seems to be in purpose of removing the Pandora app from the link services which is again a bit disappointing as it now means the "Entertainment" part of the unit is now all but gone.

  3. *Corrola ZR owner here. I took ownership of my brand new corolla ZR in May 2017/this year. (ZR - top specked with sat nav) and have found nothing but problems with my head unit and have been railroaded by Toyota. I bought mine directly from my local Toyota dealership and no one there seems to know a thing. The Toyota Link app from the App Store on my phone was last updated in 2015.. which tells me that Toyota don't care much here in Australia for the technology side of things when it comes to the head unit. Ive had the infamous problem of the mandatory update that gets stuck at both 62% and 86%. Refusing to allow the update to work I had to drive around for 2 weeks with the head unit without Toyota link apps before it finally and randomly decided to let the update work. Since updating the what is clearly 2 year old and heavily outdated apps and experiencing extreme lag and issues with apps. As well as having the frustrating annoyance of the apps not working and telling me that I can't use them because the car is running. WTF lol I've given up! Ive been through phone calls, emails, Facebook social media team. Toyota care team etc and got no where! Am very disappointed to get my top and the range 2017 car and stuck with maps/navigation that hasn't picked up on 3 new estates and their roads all built in the past 3 years and intersections that have become roundabouts that happened 3 years ago that don't appear. The maps froze on me the other day. Others on this site can only suggest that I sell the Toyota OME headhunt and spend more of my own money on a new 3rd party headhunt that has apple car play. That's great and all.. But I paid for what I got.. And Toyota should be held responsible and should be updating its apps/software . For now.. have found that I avoid the head unit and only use it to play music. I use my phones maps and other functions to do what I need it to do. I think its ridiculous that I can ask/tell Siri where I want to go and she opens up maps and within 30 secs I'm being navigated to where I want to go.. The cars voice/speech system only knows one navigation command and that's "GO HOME". -_-
  4. Hi, I just bought my brand new 2017 Toyota Corolla ZR and got it from the dealership last week. I decided the ZR model because I was led to believe that it has the latest tech/comes with Sat nav built in and was told about having the ability to download the app to my phone to add further connectivity and better my experience. :( How disappointed I am. The head unit system is slow, sluggish and lags way too many times.. Reminds me of a tablet from the 2011 era. The pandora app, which I was really looking forward to having.. Only works say 20% of the time. Im not sure if it's buggy or just an issue on mine, but I can hop in and start the car the first time and the app takes a while to load.. like everything on it does due to lag. Then it starts up fine.. But the next time I go to start the car up, the app has logged my account out/isn't working and keeps popping up a message about the Toyota link app not working whilst the car is running. So then I have to swap to bluetooth and just use my phones pandora app that way. The Sat nav is OK but just barley OK.. I feel like I'm better off getting a $30 car/phone mount and using my phones apple map and Siri to ask for directions, as the voice command on Toyota link won't let you as for directions? The Phone app is HORRIBLE!! it's old, it's ugly and so outdated.. Last update to the app was in 2015? Has Toyota just given up on that! Why haven't they got the option to put apple car play/android auto on there.. Why am I driving a brand new 2017 model car thats using an outdated and very lacking in both apps and features head unit that I had to pay slightly more to add the supposedly better and exclusive features to my car. It sucks!! I love my car and the new car feeling, the dealership experience was fantastic and I've never had an issue with Toyota before. But now I'm just disappointed and embarrassed by the low end tech in my modern day car.
  5. This is my new corolla Ascent sport that I got last week.
  6. So as the title say's, today (this morning) I drove off the lot of my dealership with my brand new Toyota Corolla Ascent sport (hatch). My dealer gave me a brief overview and run down of my audio system before I drove out and I remember him telling me that the SD card inside has to me system ejected before you can just remove it out. :o well.. in my own stupidity today and excitment I guess.. I was looking over the audio screen and decided to stupidly pull out the SD card, as is, with out having hit the "eject SD" button.. Ever since then.. after I put the card back in The audio setup system does not look like it did this morning.. When I drove out of the dealership the audio system had the full sceen display open with the radio controls all the way across the screen and looked nice. But now its shrunk and only fills half the screen and looks basic. :/ Anyone know how I can sorta restore my system to back the way it was? I hope all this makes sense? P.S. I am a complete noob with all this
  7. Hey guys & girls, I am Robbie, I live up on the north side of Brisbane, on an Island.. (Bribie Island) Queensland. I am 21 years old and work full time as a delivery driver for my local pharacies (I drive the work car which is a Toyota Yaris). But now I will be the proud owner of a brand new 2013 Toyota Corolla Ascent/Sport (hatch). This is to be my 2nd, brand new Toyota that I have owned in almost 4 years.. Up until this week, I have owned a 2010 Toyota Yaris Yrs 5door hatch, which I purchased through Toyota Finance via my local dealer back when the yaris was at 2.9% interest rate for a loan. Since then.. now 3 and a bit years into my loan and Toyota got bac to me in the past month with a "finacial cheek up" and an offer to do a trade in deal on my yaris, to upgrade and now join in on the new Toyota Accese loan plans now on offer. I am so very ecited about my trade in deal and can not wait to get my new car. I get to pick up the Corolla this coming Thursday.
