  1. The nuts I just bought from my local Autobarn store. If I remember correctly the thread has a 6mm internal diameter and a hex diameter (if that makes sense) of 10mm, so you'll need a 10mm socket to tighten or loosen it. With regards to the clips, I actually just sawed off the with plastic clips? bolts? protusions? Not exactly sure what they're called but I'm sure you'll get what I mean, instead of looking for the clips and drilling extra holes. Wiring should be easy enough, I opted to keep the light that was already inside the door so now I have 2 tailgate ( i believe is the term) lights. Just soldered it on, matching the wired and it worked like a treat. rust proof, I just painted the edges where i drilled.
  2. Not sure if these are the photos you want. I haven't actually started but here are the pics of my rear door. And as you can see, there are no grommets where the bolt can go.
  3. Not just yet. It's still sitting pretty in the garage. Haven;t had the time, I expect, knowing myself, to need 2 consecutive days to do it properly, but have been really busy at work and uni. But I did manage to clean it up and loosen all the collars and stuff. Took plenty of WD-40 and a lot of persuasion. By the way, with regards to the spoiler install. The grommets that you're talking about isn't there on the rear door of my car. Unless it's hidden behind some of the trims, but I don;t think so, since doing some guestimating, if they are underneath the trims then it would be too far for the screws to reach. So I might have to drill the on the outside the correct size hole and on the inside drill a bigger hole to make the bolt sit flush. Or if not I might just drill straight through and if there'e enough clearance for the bolt that would still enable the door to close properly then I might just leave it as it is.
  4. No. I'll be painting it a different color. More than likely the same color I painted the front grill which is a shade of gray.
  5. $99. I have to admit that this one was bought on impulse actually...
  6. Thanks. Was actually thinking of just cutting the clips since the other end where the clip is supposed to... clip I suppose, didn't come with it (ordered the spoiler online). Would there be much issue with that?
  7. Hello, So before I start, yes I used the search function, yes I went to google, yes I found the toyota-tech.eu page, but there are still some questions remaining as most of the threads regarding this are either really old and some of the (I assume) useful photos have been taken down or are empty threads that barely contain any useful information. So please bear with me. Long story short, I have a preface zze hatch and I bought a spoiler for it from the wreckers. I am quite unsure on how to install it properly so i was wondering if people have any tips, tricks and/or advice they can share. Also if people can show me photos of the bolts and connections for the spoiler would be very much appreciated. Saw the ZRE spoiler install thread but they're not exactly the same, so I was hoping to find out more before i start drilling away at my car. Specific questions: Will the bolt have to be recessed into the under side of the door for it to close properly? As in if I just drilled straight through and bolted the spoiler on, will the door close without any issue? Will I be able to plug the led stop lights on the spoiler into the plug from the stop light on the door or will have to re-wire it? Thanks for all the help.
  8. Any suggestions on how to check this apart from hanging heads out of the window while slowly driving to listen?
  9. I've booked the car in to be looked at by a proper mechanic, just to be sure.
  10. The closest thing I can describe it is, if you've ever heard the squeal coming from an old push bike brakes, those kinds of brakes where 2 brake pads clamp on to the side of the rim of the wheels, that's what it sounds like.
  11. Been doing some google search and I think it is actually a charcoal canister. And according to Mr.Google the hissing/buzzing sound does tend to happen a lot and is usually nothing to be concerned about. Funnily enough the top search results were all for Toyotas, thought it might be something prominent to the manufacturer but as already said mostly nothing to worry about.
  12. Thanks for all the help. I'll look more into it. At least now I have a better direction on where and what to look for.
  13. So a couple of days ago I made a u-turn fully locked the steering wheel and then quickly turned the steering wheel past 0 degrees the opposite direction to correct my course of direction. Now my car didn't seem to like that since I now get this Squeaking sound that appears to be coming from the Right front wheel assembly. It only happens occasionally like starting from a complete stop, rolling from a hill start and occasionally during low speeds < 20 Km/h. The Squeaking isn't very consistent and would go away after reaching speeds past 20 Km/h. And I know it's not from the brakes because the squeaking sound isn't as high pitched as the squeaking squeaking you get from the brakes. I'm just wondering where could it be coming from?
