ive never seen my fuel comsumption go down to zero before. when im driving ill get about 8.5 etc, and right after i fill up ill get 99.9ltrs/ 100km, and then itll rapidly drop down to 8ish again.

on the back off the factory unit, there are 3 plugs, i can confirm the smallest plug controls the display button.

Whether or not Toyota makes them or not, Toyota do sell it as a genuine part. it is around $30 bucks,

Obviously the guy doesnt know what he is talking about, perhaps ask for the Camry double din facia as well, as they may have listed in under that car.

with an aftermarket facia its flat surface, but a genuwine is a bit curvy. hard to explain but if i come across any pics ill show.

there is a device at jb (i shop there alot) and it sends signals via infa-red from buttons to unit and then converts it to the dash... however i didnt see toyota listed among the 'suitable' listing. there is a way of course but honestly i dont wanna ruin a good stock headunit just to use the display.

ive seen people use 2units for their cars just to use the steering wheel function, i seen it happen on a accord euro.

ACV36R 06 UPGRADE : is a gen5 model (model before the current ones)

MCV36R 06 UPGRADE : is also gen5 model, but dont know the different. could be v6 different or date based but best to ask someone else.

ACV40R : is the current shaped model camry's (gen6)

If your buying from a dealer, your better off buying the car at a drive away price, so its a final price and no other hidden fees (these usally include dealer delivery (which is bs) gst, blah blah etc )

Im not sure with government cars, i think/heard they use the car to a certain point when the car speedo reaches 20,000km they sell it, best to go to an auction and ask about the car.

i think its roughly about 100mm ? but you have a bit of space to put a spacer maybe another 20-40mm. cant remember if you asked me a few months ago i coulda told you. removing door trim and measuring isnt hard :) only a few clips and screws. let me know if you need help, ill post pics etc.

i honestly dont think toyota will do anything, because it could be the way you drive the car that makes the car drink alot. an advice, as soon as i fill up from the petrol station, i never let the my revs go past 3-4 thousand RPMS, for about 10mins of driving, do this and youll notice your _ ltrs / 100kms will drop rapidly. ive done it to my mates aurion too :) got it down to 10.8 haha

ive got a camry (similar to the aurion) and i can confirm that installing any after market unit will not work your steering wheel controls at all, this includes the display etc.

so your spending 3k for whole setup? which installer are you going with and where is it located? are you getting all the items at a good price or rrp? if you buy bulk you should be paying a bit cheaper.

damn that sucks, my boy got an auto camry tivo 07 too, his pulling about 12-14ltrs per 100 haha, i got a gen6 camry tivo manual and i get about 6.0 hwy driving and about 8ltrs in city. :)

i also got a yellow top battery too when i was running my system, no need to upgrade the aternator as i had no problems. sick battery but, went to a drive thru movie, watched 2 movies with my system thumping loud, (500/1 + 1000/1 amps, 13W7 sub) and didnt run flat at ALL. the person parked next to me also had same car, their car died about 2-4times. hahaa

i had an pioneer avic unit. was grouse. pricey but worth it.
