  1. Big thanks to Pete for organising today. I had a good time and enjoyed putting some new faces to user names and catching up with the old timers of TOCAU.

Got to the airport with plenty of time and even had a quick snooze before the boss arrived. Spotted Wayne Bennett(coach of the St George Dragons) as I walked in the door followed by a couple of the womens netball teams which were a lil hard on the eye as well as a few of them making me feel a bit on the short side!!

Thanks to Xoom for dropping me off this arvo as well as riding shotgun with him and Big Pete!

Thanks boys and look forward to June even if it means a job change LOL

  2. 7 - 12hp = 3 - 5kw.....

:| seems like taking your spare wheel out would net a better result in real terms.

Small changes but they all add up. Its not like any of this stuff is really expensive, unless you go a bit overboard and end up spending like $2000 on a headerback stainless exhaust like I did

So the CES catback for the ZZE at $1060 is pretty good value then for the 6-9kw gain!!

Good to see someone with a ZRE doing something about real mods. Now to find someone with a ZRE in Brissy to possibly be the guinea pig for CES to finish a CAI for the ZRE.......

I will be looking at bumming rides with a few across the day and changing cars when we make some stops. So for those looking for 100kgs of ballast to make cornering fun around right hand corners I will be happy to help out!!

So far Big Pete, Xoom and Tats are on my "to ride" list LOL. Others can apply to!!

Can't wait for sunday am totally looking forward to catching up with some fo the NSW crew thats for sure.

  4. I sell and air con anti bacterial deodoriser at work. We start your car and run the air con till it gets cold. then we empty the content of the anti bacterial into the fresh air pick up under the windscreen normally. We then let the car run for 3 -5 minutes before we return the car to the customer. All they have to do is run the air con for 15-20 minutes and the job is done.

The smell in your air con is bacteria build up caused by the constant condensation build up then heating and cooling of your ducting system. Our air care is primarily to kill off the bacteria which in turn removes the musty type odour from the air con. It will also help kill of other odours in the car such as smoke smell etc etc.

  5. Ok kids meet at the loop at 8pm sharp then we will head to the car wash. If it does rain there is plenty of undercover area so no probs.

bring your own bucket, sponge etc etc

I also have some goodies for the first few to arrive as well....

    So dont be late....

Address of the car wash is 179 Abbortsford Rd Bowen Hills for those who want to meet up with us straight there.

  6. Thanks Ray Rei for bringing out the cars on such short notice.. Hope you didn't drop too much of your dinner. :P
hahaha well i wasnt told til my other mates were like oi ray nebo run im like WAHhhhh??? oh ok :) far out my mates celica sounded so nice :)

It sure did. Sweet sound when it hit lift as well. But DAMN that MR-S was phat (literally).

Lift? What lift? Cheers guys.. It's stock.. Honest. But... I haven't felt lift in about 2 yrs.

Ray Rei.. Your invited to our Nebo runs from now on. :toast: Made me have to actually get up and go. Last person to suprise me that much was Peter.... damn fast bastards.. :whistling:

Jimmy you always chickened out on nebo runs when Sportivo's dominated the landscape back in the day. :P Always had "something else to do" lol

Apart from North's commodore the quickest thing I have been in up Nebo was his sportivo closely followed by mine. I am a lil more sympathetic on the machinery than North LOL

Next week we could do a cruise to a certain "new car wash" that has just opened and is all lit up at night. You can even use you own stuff if you want to. If there is enough interest I will even be there to give tips on cleaning a car properly :toast:

Of course.. My car is too slow to go up with the stivo. I only go up with family cars like aurion, integra, lancers and silvias... My car is stock afterall...

Where were you guys last night? Made me feel like such an oldie with the new group.

Maybe we should do another run.. Enlighten me on how fast you guys are. As long as I get to stick out the back, don't want to hold you guys back. We should get Pippy, Wei wei and all the old boys to do old school run..

HAHAHAHAHAHA good to see your still alive Jimmy!! Old school meet would be a bit of a blast from the past that's for sure!! Would be a great mix of cars I tell you. I might get something organsied shortly stay tuned.....

As for the car wash i used it last night and the lighting is really good!! My boss is more than happy for you guys to bring your own stuff to wash(car wash etc etc) the facilities are there to be utilised so we might make this a regular thing. Might even make a good back drop for the photo snappers.....

  7. If you have money to burn and want to go around telling everyone you have a high flow cat then go for it. For the money you will pay you wont see a lick of HP gains and be disappointed to say the least.

Unless you have done major work to your engine etc don't waste your money and buy something usefull like a TRD sticker for the back window.

A lot cheaper for the same amounts of gain.....

  8. On all 3 cars I put clear contact on the bonnet and the pillars so the ribbons didn't scratch ;)

Ribbons off remove contact and guess what?? no marks...... :D

Ahh flashbacks of days gone by.... how i wish i had of kept that car and still have been able to buy a house.................................

  9. Thanks Ray Rei for bringing out the cars on such short notice.. Hope you didn't drop too much of your dinner. :P

  10. At work I have the guys set up with some products that aren't Meguiars simply because time is money and some of the Meguiars stuff is time consuming.

Since we do a lot of top end type cars (Lambo's, Maserati's, Porsche's etc) the finish must be top shelf. I will try and write up a list of the products we use in a step by step process when I get the chance.....

  11. WHO THE HELL LOCKED THE OTHER POST???? HOW FARRKING GAY!!!!

    I did!!!

I'm on my phone it wouldn't let me move it out of sight only let me close it. Thread was canned by request of pete.

it's not gay... It was pointless leaving it there if there was no actual cruise.

i thought pete was organising a mountais run on sunday??? so we can meet up with ray :o

Sorry but something has come up and i'll have to bale. this is why the previous thread has been canned. sorry for the late notice

    nice...

    GAY I SAY!!!! bahahahhahaha

Dude please get over it. The meet was canned due to the person organising it not being able to attend. This meet is happening so come to this one. All TOCAU members are welcome to come and join in no matter what Toyota model or car you drive.

    The more the merrrier.....

  12. Hey NSW peeps

I am in Sydney for a wedding the weekend of 5-7th march and would like to catch up with some you guys on the sunday if possible. My wife is going to catch up with some work collegues so I am going to catch up with the TOCAU collegues!!

I have spoken to Mish and Xoom and they are looking at making this the NSW monthly meet instead of a saturday night.

So I will leave the rest in their hands to organise a venue and meet point for perhaps a small cruise and stop to eat!! (not at Max Brunner's at St Ives cause that place cost me a damm fortune last time I ate there lol)

    Cheers SB

  13. Hey all

My brother has a choice of new company cars atm and is looking at the Aurion Sportivo only if the towing capacity is high enough to tow his show car/ drag car around. Anybody have an idea of what it might be?? He is hoping it will be high enough as he likes the Aurion otherwise his other choice is a Commodore sport wagon.

    cheers kids

    SB

  14. Nothing wrong with King Springs. You think they would use them on V8 supercars, V8 ute series and production car series of racing if they were crap??? after all suspension set ups on drift cars is primitive to say the least. Just make it uber stiff with no body roll ahahahaha

I would put a rear sway bar with front strut brace. Forget front sway bar unless you like adverse under steer. If you want to put on a front sway bar then GO one stage heavier in the rear. Another thing to do with a ZRE is get the car to sit level and not like 4wd in the rear. ZZE were the same sitting some 15mm higher in the rear than the front. Make the car sit level, tie the bum down so it simply follows where you point the front wheels and set the camber and castor to suit and you car will handle nicely indeed.

  15. Umm is your car stock?

If it is don't waste your time on an ECU if you haven't done the basic mods.

    ie intake, headers, exhaust...

rofl, i haven't even done headers yet :P

    must get car tuned

    Evo

Yeah better tune it before you kill it lol. Finish the job Evan before it costs you a lot more money......

  16. Evan you haven't been fast enough on Nebo to see if they work :P Even with a S/C hahahahahaha

Seriously some of you need to realise that COILOVERS are not meant for everyday use in a street car. They are designed for cars used for racing purposes on semi smooth surfaces such as race tracks. Why is it that Pillow mounts don't last a long time on coilovers that used on cars as daily drivers???

IMO a quality shock and spring combo is every bit as good as a set of coilovers to a point. That point is being able to adjust height and at 11/10's on a race track is where you may notice a slight difference. But how many of you are on a race track every other week?? Most of you spend more time driving on public roads in traffic so why not set your car up for doing what is does the most of the time and not the infinite minority of time around a race track??

You can set a car up with springs and shocks to handle every bit as good as a set of coilovers but they aren't the only things that need to looked at to make a car handle properly. Sway bars, camber/castor settings, corner weights are but a few other things that need to be addressed to make something REALLY handle.....
