  1. 12th It is then. Add your name to the list and also if you are possibly bringing partners/friends/posse to dinner so I can give them an idea on numbers.

Also who is keen on doing a Secret Santa type of deal. Spend say $20 on a gift. Everyone who comes to dinner will get something and I will organise who buys for who but it will all be a surprise!! all in favour let me know. It will make it a fun evening!!!!!

  2. Guys i am organising a chrissy dinner and cruise for early december. So far the idea is to have dinner at ciccio's then cruise afterwards. saturday night is prolly the best and may well suit most people. Can I get an EOI on which dates suit please....

    5th december

    12th december

    19th december

I am leaning towards the 12th as the 19th is a bit too close to Chrissy and the 5th is only 2 weeks or so away.

    cheers SB

  3. did a detail on a certain "blue sportivo Camry" today at work.......

hope all was good and you enjoyed the free stuff LOL

sorry guys I to am now studying so my free time is limited till i get this degree of sorts finished. Hopefully not too long!!

I will be organising a night cruise for a saturday night combined with a TOCAU Brissy peeps christmas get together shortly.....

  4. Firstly springs dont sag..... suspension bushes do!! If you do not index the trailing arm and or rear torsion beam bushes they over time will eventually give up and let the suspension sag because of the fatigue factor of the bush trying to hold the suspension at point A(stock height) wheras it now sits a point b(lowered height)

I have run both lows and the super low rear combo and the latter is by far better. MY car finally sat level and best of all the rear didn't jump around like and empty wheel barrow on steriods!! Eibachs are good Gav but only a 30mm drop according to the catalogue and are on the softish side of ride quality. Perhaps combined with Koni's might be ok but with KYB's or stocko's it will be a rather comfy ride in the lounge chair.

Yes the lows/superlows have different spring rates but by running adjustable struts it is very easy to set up and get the perfect balance. MY car tracked perfectly on hard cornering on smooth and rough surfaces as well as lit off oversteer being almost completely eliminated.

I know there are a lot of members out there who disbelief the theory and set up but everyone has a different driving style depending on what you have owned previously will ultimately affect how you drive a Sportivo. Some people love to man handle the car aggressively which may look spectacular but in honesty isn't the fastest way to get around. Maintaining smooth flowing lines and smooth input on the steering wheel = smooth outputs of the car and keeping the wheels in touch with terrra firma at all times.

Remember it is a front wheel drive car with reasonable output!! Not a rear wheel drive, 4WD or rear engined rear wheel drive(VW FTW LOL) so remember the way you set up your car mighten be good for someone else.

The lows front and super lows rear concept was something I in conjunction with my suspension wholesaler came up with and perfected to perform nicely. The only other additions I had were koni sport adjustables, front strut brace, rear sway bar and camber adjustments front and rear.

A stock front sway bar is more than suffice for this car and the only way to make a heavier front sway bar work would be to go one stage heavier on the rear which simply isn't available on the market.

Hope this helps!! Happy to answer and questions via PM if the need be.

    cheers SB

  5. Here is a pic explaining where the cat. converter is:

    post-15048-1255553394_thumb.jpg

Only one of the O2 (Oxygen Sensors) is showing in this pic, the other O2 sensor is before the cat. converter further up. I also think that this is the second cat. converter, as there would be another one built into the exhaust manifold as part of the extractors.

The price of this cat. back system is $980.00 (plus GST) supplied & fitted and it carry's 10 years warranty which is more than any factory warranty on any exhaust system I have ever seen. The entire system is Stainless Steel (not mild steel) which means it will never rust!

It's black because I told them to paint the pipes and the mufflers for a "sleeper look" ;)

Looks good mate and glad you are happy with it. Certainly does make the CES catback for the ZZE122/3 seem reasonably priced at $960 ;) ;)

  6. Sheesh!! I take a few days off this forum and all the keyboard warriors come out in force LOL

Everyone back off and take a long hard look at what you post up. Or someone will be getting a holiday from here.....

It's a shame that there are so many on here who seem to know it all and are trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak!!

Ported headers have been around since I got mine done waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back in late 05. Old news for those thinking it is something new LOL

You will get a small increase in peak power(3-4ish kw like Gav said) but will get a huge increase in low to mid range torque and drivability which is what the 2ZZ lacks. It will make your car soooooooo much nicer to drive as a daily driver in peak hour traffic as you won't need to rev the engine as hard in each gear before changing up and also less changes as the engine does become more tractable at lower rpm in taller gears.

FYI regarding Kw increases on a CAI..... i got a 9kw increase with cat back exhaust, then added a CAI and netted another 6kw, then added the headers and got a nats turd under 4kw peak power increase but the torque hole between 4-6k is almost non existant and the engine makes more power right through the rev range which also makes the transition onto lift a lot less of a jump.

Play nice kids or the "red" button may come into play!!

    Cheers

    SB
