  1. I guess it might be the weight as well. The factory 19 is heavier than the 17.
  2. Yeah got it mate, and thanks for that. There was times years ago when I thought 19 was cool, but not anymore these days. I do want to go back to as much stock as I can, and those I mentioned are some of the choices I managed to find for sale. Those are stock wheels that are pretty new at quite okay price and around the area that I can go pick up as well. That’s what lead me to start this threat.
  3. Yeah, looks like 215/55/17 is a much better option. It's time to look for some wheels now. I can get some 17x7 for about $600 and 17x6.5 for about $400. I really don't want to spend too much on an almost 10 years old car. As the 18s that suit Aurion is not a common size and is quite expensive.
  4. Yes, you are correct. 225/45 and 235/45 both are very close to stock. Thanks for the feedback jtfoto. I think 3km/h is quite normal on most car’s speedo.
  5. Hi guys, I've been rolling on the TRD 19x8 245/35/19 for a few years now on my Aurion 2010 AT-X. I feel it pulls and tram line a lot and wanted to change back to something a bit thinner and smaller. I've seen two options: 1. 17x7 on 215/55/17, stock sportivo size 2. 18x8 on 235/40/18, stock newer camry wheels. Any recommendation on which one I should go for? Any feedback on tramlining and wheel pulling issue? Anyone got any stock 17inch that they want to sell?
  6. Hi Guys I am wondering if the under the front lips of the 2010 Sportivo series, the bumper is the same as the 2010 ATX. Can I just get the front lips and attach it onto the ATX bumper ? or Do I need to get the whole bumper and lip ?
  7. ahhh guys .. any group buys running anytime soon for these kits. i found some on http://rhino360.my and they do ship to Australia. But it just doesn't look as nice as the Thai kit .. :(
  8. is it right in between the number plate light ? then yes that is for installing reverse camera.
  9. Just my 0.02, I will go a grade thicker as the car hits the next 100K kms or 120K kms mark. Since your car is still very new and I am assuming somewhat under 50000km, I would stick to the hand book xW-30. You can go as low as 0w which you don't really need in Australia weather condition. You can also refer to this thread as there is a small talk about different between the 40s and 50s series, and it seems to be almost exactly the same. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/45673-engine-power-upgrades/
  10. Hi Is it still up for sale ? Both front and rear shock and spring is it ?
  11. Thanks for the link. Don't the 40 series and 50 series have different oil viscosity specs? Further muddies the waters so to speak. The most disappointing thing in all this is the apparent lack of understanding of the oil spec page in the handbook by all of the Toyota personnel I have asked. My opinion is that a good quality 5W-30 will be OK but I will probably go with Penrite PRO10 a semi sun 10w30. Very attractively priced. Since the 40 and 50 series has the same engine and basically almost the same car. I can say it is almost the same. Personally, I'll go for something fully Synthetic this http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products-categ.php?id_categ=1&id_viscosity=6 I am currently using this http://www.penriteoil.com.au/engineoils-products.php?id_categ=1&id_products=1 since its already 110000K on the clock. But yeah, Nulon or Penrite or any other reputable fully Syn will never go wrong.
  12. it's totally fine to use 5w-30. will even be better in cold start. refer to this thread:http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/22298-what-oil/
  13. It doesn't need to be full for me, anywhere near mid territory for me. LSD.... are we looking for unicorn here ? hahahaha :P Correct me if I'm wrong here, LSD only useful when you are taking corner where it limit the slip difference between the inside and outside wheel. In term of straight line acceleration, I don't think it makes much of a different I guess, unless only one of the wheel lose traction badly. I guess, that's the way to go :(
  14. That's cool man ... going easy , easy easy . i have to implant the word easy in my right foot :( On the topic of suspension. I still tossing coin of lowering or not. Coil or spring. head banging. Handling and looks or comfort. Can't decide.
  15. Just to clarify, that was sarcasm. I wholly do not recommend turning it off in the wet.(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ would be a very bad idea if you did, lol yeah, I kinda know what's going to happen before I even think about it. Even with the traction control on I have to always feather my foot in the wet and the light still flashing. I wouldn't put anyone on the road at risk just for my own good (crazy testing). But yeah, like i mentioned above, I will be looking on suspension bushing and damping, and the tyres. Honestly man, stiffer shocks and bushes gonna hurt you more than help. Been tryin to give you the hint, IT'S YOUR DRIVING STYLE. Ease your right foot off a little, its pure physics, only so hard you can launch a 2 tonne hunk of metal before tyre adhesion goes out the window. This isn't a corolla and you can't drive it like one. :) yes man , thanks. I surely have always put my foot on diet . and every time this thing happen i always wants to shade off weight from the foot and tears in drop inside for the car. The point here is that, is it me or the car that causing this that concern me most. If it is me then it is an easy fix. If it is the car then I have to find the right way on fixing the car. However though, I only got this aurion for about 4 months now, not too much experience on it yet. And the first workshop service and also get it fully inspect. So yeah, I really do appreciate the help from you and the guys in here. and as long as i know that its not anything serious that I need to look at into the car then its good for me. Because I do love the car a lot.
  16. Just to clarify, that was sarcasm. I wholly do not recommend turning it off in the wet.(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ would be a very bad idea if you did, lolyeah, I kinda know what's going to happen before I even think about it. Even with the traction control on I have to always feather my foot in the wet and the light still flashing. I wouldn't put anyone on the road at risk just for my own good (crazy testing). But yeah, like i mentioned above, I will be looking on suspension bushing and damping, and the tyres.
  17. Thanks Prodigy07 Don't get me wrong though, I do take a lot of care for the car. Its just that rare moment that I slip the right foot. And i always try to put that right foot on diet so it won't be too heavy. I know that if I ease off the acceleration this cut down. But I just want to check if it just me or it all happens like that. So I know where I have to look at and start fiddling from there on and won't break something else. Suspension is what i'm going to look at weekend will talk to the mechanic and let him inspect what might cause it and If there is no issue I will just change the suspension bushing for now. And I did a fair bit of research on this issue and seems like people are suggesting suspension bushing and engine mount bushing. And i'm putting some stickier tyres in soon . I will see how that goes for now.
  18. I feel the traction control in the Aurion is either coming in too late or just cut off the power I drive quite some old cars with no traction control, it doesn't hop just lots of wheel spin. However, in the dry the car just grips fine. in the wet with the wide foot print tyres I'm having right now is okay until around 4000 rpm then the hop just come like crazy. I do try to be a lot more careful on the right foot in the wet though. But some road surface just want to play skipping rope with me :)
  19. I will give that a try (have to dig up the long list of how to disengage the traction control), but seems like the weather wont give me the chance any time soon. If it is the case of the traction control then it will be very annoying. Unless i put my right foot on diet :( The tyres does help a bit in my case. In the next couple week or so I'm going change all 4 tyres to Goodyear Asymmetric 2. And will see how it goes. Btw, when you say spring, you referring to lowered spring ? Yep, I have to be a bit more careful on the gas in the wet. but sometimes I just want to get off the light and that's annoying :(
  20. Hi Guys I'm on 2010 ATX. On the stock wheels and Bridgestone Turanza 215/60/16, any damped condition. If I am a bit heavy on my right foot, the front of the car starts jumping and bouncing like crazy. Now on TRD wheels and Dunlop Sportsmax 245/35/19, damped condition. I still get the crazy hopping, bouncing but at higher acceleration. Wondering if you guys have any issue like that. I have read that changing the stock suspension bushing to polyurethane bushing will help the issue. Suggestion please.
  21. Why not , give it a try . I tried using phone, but a bit distracting tbh. Need time to get used to it
  22. Sorry but LOL ....keen to see some direct sunlight pics once you install it .... it dosnt show maps? just arrows? Direct sunlight man ? With the screen film probably okay . without it I'd say probably forget about it. Nah, it doesn't show the map, only the arrows :( Sad but true
