  1. I am sorry to hear that your Avalon is having some oil leaks, I was of the the understanding that Falcons and Commodores were notorious for oil leaks (I used to drive a Ford Falcon, and they had a shocking reputation for oil leaks). May I ask, are the leaks bad?, ie is your Avalon losing oil rapidly?, and is it a cheap repair should you decide to fix it?
  2. Welcome, and a excellent choice of car, a former soccer team mate of mine had the base model Kluger, but even then it was like a lounge room on wheels, and it was a joy to ride in when he gave me a lift in it.
  3. Welcome, and nice car, may I ask how far can you go on a full tank of diesel?, I am always reading that diesels go much further than petrol engines.
  4. Welcome Colin, nice car the Toyota Avalon, I recall a loyal Holden man once telling me that even he was impressed with the smoothness and power of the Toyota Avalon.
  5. G'day everyone, I just joined the forum today as a long term Toyota owner, and it's great to find a community of like minded Toyota owners. At the moment I am driving a 2001 Magnetic Silver Toyota Camy Azura V6, and what an absolute gem of car (I'd say it has been the best car I have ever owned). I found it on carsales in November of last year, and how is this for good fortune, when I purchased it from Sydney City Lexus/Toyota (they are same dealership), it had only done 74,000km and better still it is a one owner car (the original owner was a doctor), and it came with the log books fully up to date. Also the original owner serviced the car religiously every 10,000km at Sydney City Toyota, except for the 70,000km service which was done by another mechanic. The sale price was $8,000, but I talked the price down to $7,500, bear in mind these cars were around $42k new. Presently, the car has done 85,700km, and it runs like its brand new, the 3.0 Litre V6 Lexus engine (the same one used in the Lexus ES300), and it is as smooth as silk, the air conditioning is brilliant (ice cold in summer, and very warm in winter), and the 4 speed automatic changes seamlessly and is probably one of the best changing autos I have driven. The cruise control works perfectly, the standard Fujitsu sound system pumps out good sound for a basic factory system, and overall the car is very well designed. Even the motoring writers said that it was probably one of the best Camrys ever made, Below are some photos.
