  1. sounds a little more serious, i have a single cab, bodystyle tray and it's smooth up to 190kph (as long as the road it smooth)
  2. Phatt audio in breaside to, there was a test and tune for SPL there last sunday :)
  3. dose anyone know what i should use on my tonnue to keep it nice and black and to stop the sun damaging it? Cheers!
  4. baldy check out downundertruckin for lowrider info :) you're lux look nice!
  5. i just put a qmax invisibass6 sub in my ute. 6.5in sub in box, damn thing THUMPS. and still tight and accurate! impressed the hell outta me. (i have seen one in an excell do 130db on termalb)
  6. looks good jb747! i wouldnt mind doing a seat change in mine, but kinda like the bench thats in the manual. i guess i could change the drivers and get the bench re-trimed.
  7. i would say that them alpine tweeters would be fakes. putting another set of tweeters on the old xover will change the loading on the amp and also change the xover freq' i dont know what you plan on doing, i wouldnt run 2 sets of tweeters up front unless one set were ambiants which i would only use in an SQ car and only if needed. and then you would also need a xover that would cross them over very high otherwise having them playing the same freq' and same volume will cause multipull source points and make it sound average at best. as for decent tweeters have a look on www.advanceae.com he has a good range of vifa and scanspeak tweeters. i ran the Vifa XT25's for 2 years of CAASQ and they were stunning tweeters.
  8. looks nice, the AVN6000 is a nice unit! how hard was taking the old HU out of the lux? i need to change my HU very soon and the last lux i did a few years ago required me pulling half the dash out :(
  9. i went custom on my front doors on my last car, 6 layers of FG over the original door pockets. thats as they were getting made, i had $1500 speakers in them. they helped with imaging and staging, and also so they fitted the doors properly. they were made by Phatt Audio in melb, cost me around $1200 but still needed to be finnished, never did cause i sold the car.
  10. i have had and used a few subs, owned a few bostons, rally 10in, pro 12.4 and 10.5, had a treo in there and a couple of others. my last sub is one of my fav's Oz audio matrix elite 12in. had it running of a SS rubi502, 500wrms and the thing pumped. had 4kw going into it for a while too and for a sub that was rated at 750wrms it was a decent effort. i have 6 subs goin into the lux, qmax 6.5in subs and will have around 3-4kw on tap for them i have seen one of these put out 130db!! there damn impressive.
  11. smaller speakers you can get standing waves, midrange speakers suffer from it alot. and them egg and round speaker enclosuers look porno!
  12. you can get get 2 channel mono block amps... kinda confusing but there designed to be bridged as a single channel. but i doubt thats what this is as there not that common and not that cheep anyway an amp means two fiths of **** all most the time. for day to day listning you probly wouldnt know the difference between a mediocor amp and a hi end amp. soon as you start the car any improvement go's out the window. if you want to compete in SQ comps then sure, get the best you can. MR and MSROLA - what store does MRROLA work at? i have spent 10 years and $30,000 on car audio. it wasnt till 2 years ago i started to be able to hear little differences and subtles in the music and the charicteristics of speakers and amps. you will hear more difference from a better quality sub than you will a better quality amp
  13. thats not correct, the standing waves with sub bass are very long and cannot be prouced inside most sub box's, well unless the box is 15feet long.. i have tried doing so many different things with sub boxs and most of it is old wives tales. all that is needed is strengh i have had bunnings cut up many box's for me. now i go to a cabinet maker, cost me around $50 for a 25mm thick box assembled
  14. the boston subs are nice subs, i have had a few, (rally 10in, Pro 10.5 and Pro 12.4) the 10in played low as and still loud (130db on termlab in a sedan)
