Gidday Forum Members, Well I have just joined not more than a few minutes ago. We are wanting to purchase a Vehicle to be set up for long distance touring. We want something thats special purpose set up ready to go. We have a number of units to be in tow subject to which trip we are doing, from our 2750Kg Semi off Road 21 ft caravan, then there is the Track Trailer Tvan, plus we have a small tinnie that will need to go on top, and for the off trip possibly tents swags. WE currently have a 4x4 Wagon different Manufacturer that does the job but as its our Daily ride it is a pain pulling in and out the rear seat , bolting in fridges , boat loaders etc. So as i said the time has come for a special purpose vehicle and as we want the power and the towing capacity i see it will need to be a Landcruiser Workmate Ute of some type. So for now thats where we are at, I would luv the opportunity to talk to owners of such vehicles to hear what are the hurdles we need to be on the look out for, is there a particular model year we should consider, what are the views of owners with the Twin Cab does this work just as well? So for now i will begin to look through past posts to improve my knowledge base and perhaps pose some additional questions, Looking forward to getting into it. Regards Kangyboy ( Grant)
