  1. Sounds like you could have grabbed tank of grotty fuel. How long has this been happening for? If it was really dirty then I doubt injector cleaner would do a great deal. If it doesn't sort itself out, perhaps a service of your injectors might do the trick.
  2. Wow, I haven't checked this forum for over a year. Good to see that the popularity of the Stivo has continued to grow. I have an 03 Stivo that is kicking on stronger than ever.
  3. You can buy dash kits for the Rolla in aluminium, wood etc. Try these guys - Carshine
  4. The Sportivo came in 4th last year behind the Rex & RX8 who were equal first, then the XR6 turbo. Last year the Sportivo scored an overall 3.64 which would have put it in 3rd place for this years results. I wonder what's changed.
  5. Hey Peekay, that's not the new bored out 2.2L S2000 that your looking at is it? Rumour has it that the powerband is going to start as low as 3k.
  6. Try Neal Bates Automotive, they are in Hume, ACT. They are a dealer for TTR. (02) 6260 1536
  7. Thanks Guys, I have downloaded other video editing software but the Imagemixer is supposed to be the best/easiest to use with my camera. I have a PC, but I appreciate the advice anyway fellas.
  8. I know this is a little off topic for this forum but I am hoping someone out there has a Sony handicam and can help me out. I just scored a Sony MiniDV handicam but I don't have the Image mixer software for it. Does anyone have a copy of the Imagemixer ver.1.5 for sony software that they might be able to email me. Cheers.
  9. I knew you would be able to help Peekay, knowing that you have changed your LED's. Thanks a tonne. I am replacing replacing one of my warning lights with a single stage LED shift light. only hope that it is going to be bright enough to notice without having to look at it. If all goes to plan it should be. I'll let you know how it goes.
  10. Has anyone removed the guage cluster from a Sportivo? It all seems to come pretty easily except for the one screw right at the top which faces down. It doesn't seem to unscrew. I know there are about a gazillion different types of clips, brackets and screws and I am unsure how to get this one out and the last thing I want to do is break something and then have to live with a rattling dash. Any help would be tops. Cheers.
  11. I have searched everywhere for quad throttle bodies for the 2zz. One company in the US used to manufactured one for a short while but no longer offer them due to the difficulties in fitting. The problems were associated with space. I am sure with the right money you could get something custom.
  12. You can buy dash kits for the Corolla. They usually come in fake wood, aliminium or carbon. Try these guys... http://www.carshine.com.au
  13. Now just an LSD to get all that power to the ground eh?
  14. For all the Canberra guys, you can't go past Bates Automotive in Hume. They know the car and their prices are better than most.
  15. Hey QD180, I would definately be keen, the notice is a little too short this time though. Let us know if and when you head back to Wakefield and I'll organise a few blokes to cruise up from Canberra.
  16. When I picked up my Stivo from the dealer I was told that the PIN was the first four digits of the VIN..... or was that the last four?? Not sure, if the dealer can't help you try that, I am pretty sure it was the first four digits.
  17. Yeah I think I will just leave it for now and speak to Toyota if the problem ever does arise. The other compliance/power issue that is mentioned. Is that something that Toyota will contact all owners about, or will they simply contact those that have stressed their concerns?
  18. How many others have not had any problems with the gear selector cables? I have never had the problem and don't know if I should contact my dealer to try and push for the replacement parts. Is there any benefit of fixing something that aint broke? But I am worried that the problem might arise later down the track as I have only ran up just over 11K. Anyone else who doesn't have the problem going to ask for the replacement parts? Definately can't wait for any perf. upgrade though.
  19. If the fact that Toyota have made claims regarding the specific output of the Sportivo engine that are incorrect or otherwise false in any way, this may constitute a breach of Trade Practices Act ('TPA'). The TPA is Federal legislation administered by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission ('ACCC'). Consumer protection provisions of the TPA state that "Corporations shall not, in trade or commerce, engage in conduct that is misleading or deceptive or is likely to mislead or deceive". Other provisions specifically prohibit corporations from falsely representing the performance characteristics of goods or services. If you believe that Toyota may have mislead you with representations they made about the perf. characteristics of the Sportivo you can register you concerns with the ACCC. You can contact their complaints/Infocentre line on 1300 302 502 to register you complaint, or visit their website at www.accc.gov.au and go to Complaints/Enquiries/Contacts to register your complaint online. You never know, if it can be shown that the conduct is in breach of the TPA and the matter falls within the priorities of the ACCC action may be taken.
  20. Hey Dogbert, was that you I chased up Belconnen Way this morning? If it was, your car looks great with those monster 18inch wheels. I saw it and thought to myself that is definately the look I want.
  21. [Just curious about where all the Celicas went during that race? There were 2 or 3 of them at the start but none close to the Type-R or Stivo.] I also watched the two races on Sunday, I think the reason why you don't see the Celica's is because they compete in the class above the Sportivo, so they are handicapped about 30 seconds at the start. They can't seem to make up the time at all.
  22. I'm with you T-Sport. The Stivo comes into it's own on a bit of twisty road where you chuck it through the gears and try and keep it in the power band.
  23. Well I had my day at Wakefield on Friday, and what more can I say than Wow! It was a fantastic day that left me exhausted but itching for more. I was a little nervous at first when the other 35 odd cars started turning up. I pulled into the pit area to see a 2001 Lotus Elise, then the next car to arrive all I could hear was the whir of the supercharger forcing air into a Ford FPV GTP. That was one of the nicest cars I have ever seen/heard. Then a bunch of Porsche's arrived on the back of trailers a few more FPV's a 1974 Ferrari Enzo, a tricked up Nissan SSS and an unregistered Swift GTI on a trailer. As I said I went out a bit nervous with my left leg shaking more than a bit on the clutch pedal but after a few laps I had settled into a bit of a rythem, but that is where the standard Turanza's gave up the ghost and turned to mush. What I got most out of the day was the need for a slippery diff and much improved tires. I was nearly the only other car their on road tires. To give you an idea of times, the quickest of the day was a 1min 11sec lap by a Porsche Clubman, the quickest V8 which happened to be the one that was supercharged ran around in 1m13s, the Lotus could not top 1m18 seconds and I could not beat 1m25s in the Sportivo. Although my father who has a few years of rally experience clocked a 1m22s in the stock Stivo. So the Corolla was not far off the pace of that Lotus after all. I'll post some picks tomorrow.
  24. Qkslvr, if that is the case then why do they represent that the Stivo produces 141kw when the represented power of the Celica was only 140kw?
