  1. Hi everybody just an enquiring about the OBDII Ultraguage MX 1.4 installed in a Landcruiser 200 ( Pre 2016 Non DPF Models ) would like to know if the gauge is fit for purpose not specifically to fix more so to monitor gauges for towing purposes any help would be gratefully excepted thanks Welshpomie
  2. Hi Bakidu Toyota Service dropped the fuel tanks replaced the fuel pump they had the Cruiser overnight no problem's since close to 7000 KLMS as stated not a cheap option Toyota is not my normal Mech, the guy i normally go to suggested take it to Toyota because its time consuming and better set up to do this type of repair as also stated pump can last a while and suddenly just stop which can be quite dangerous in the middle of traffic or on a back road out in the scrub if you Click on the link https://www.billrobertsontoyota.com.au/2020/03/05/toyota-australia-recalls-vehicles-due-fuel-pumps/ regards Bryan
  3. Hi Mark i also had the exact problem with my 2013 Sahara July this year in Roma 1/4 tank of fuel light come on showing low fuel Black Toyota in Roma diagnosed problem with the pump between the tanks quite common with Landcruiser and Prado anywhere from 50,000 plus mine had done 200,000 KLMs was told to fill up tank and light will go out which it did only problem is it will happen each time your fuel tank gets to around 1/4 - 1/2 as time goes the pump malfunctions worse to the point of not working at all there is no time frame as to when the pump will stop $900.00 later problem solved at Gatton Toyota
  4. Hi if you go back to the early posts you will see a step by step after they rebuilt my motor at 56000 one advantage was it reached 69000 before it ran out of oil if your happy with your result and willing to top up before a service then that s your choice i am sad to say i wasn't considering it was a brand new SUV happy motoring
  5. It seems nothing has changed with the rav its sad to say but sell it try and make as much as you can and don't look back if i had the money i would have done the same as the guy did with the jeep and stick it on u tube best of luck
  6. HI Colin and every one else do your self's a favour and off load your RAV because the rebuild does not work , my options were 1 a new motor 2 carry on as normal and service department would give a bottle of oil after shedule service to make it to the next service 3 off load the RAV . I asked the question has the new motor (2014) been modified to prevent the oil from burning Manager's answer no so whats the point of a new motor , there is no fix to this issue Like Jennifer i have got rid of my RAV All the best to you all Bryan
  7. If i was still in S.Wales (UK) that whould be Caerphilly Cheese ,Its so bad you have to laugh .
  8. I everyone . After the rebuild which was 56,000 we had a service at 60,000 so any oil consumed was very little if any as stated before xmas so looking at the dipstick nothing really changed untill after the 68,000 and the demise of the oil started dropping off and just before 70,000 the oil light came on to start the nightmare all over again . now waiting to see what the dealership intends to do .
  9. HI everybody . its been a while since the last reply, i did say i would see how the next 10,000 after the first 4,000 service would go after the re-build sad to say it didnt work out the oil light came on again so after 14,000 after the rebuild it failed , so after reviewing the oil level from the begining of 18,000 to 70,000 i have had enough the motor is a lemon first it was Jennifers now mine so all those who think there is a light at the end of the tunnel by a rebuild ,well iam sorry its not going to be bright , so ****** off
  10. Hi Talbit . the fuel consumption was always reasonable .but has improved slightly ,has i have said in the past this has always been based on HWY driving at 100km we rarly go into the city of Brisbane , i have noticed the calabration on the speedo is about 5-6 km out so in real terms if i was to drive at what the actual speedo reading shows the consumption would be less again, the lowest so far was 5.42 per hundred with the wife driving ,i really dont think we can achive a better result unless the driving speed is reduced ,i may have forgotten to mention the rav has a manual gear box. Welshpomie
  11. Hi everyone the latest update on my rav rebuild is still going good with 5,000 km on the clock since the rebuild there is still no loss of oil so far ,and getting a average of 5.5 - 5.6 to the hundred km so fuel usage is very good ,previous to the rebuild the average was 5.9 - 6.1 bus as i say it is still early days , the rav goes in for its 60,000 service next week so the monitoring will continue ,doing a average of 1,000 a week it will be at least 2mths before a decent assumption can be made which means a straight 10,000 km stint , Welshpomie .
  12. HI everyone. Just an update how my motor is going so far the motor has only done 1,000 since the rebuild and is showing no loss of oil yet fuel consumtion has come down from 6-5 per hundred to 5-6 so the motor is starting to loosen up and that is based on hwy driving with no traffic lights averaging 95-98 per-hour .
  13. Hi Trevor we did'nt register any loss of oil in the first service we had the service done at 9,600 km ,and it did not click untill a short time ago because i could'nt under stand why, but i imagined it was because when the rav went in for the 1,000 km check the service department topped up the oil . Has for being a guinea pig everone to there own , i certainly did not want a replacement motor that would give the same result but if this rebuild has the same result then it will prove Toyota has forgotten how to build motors and will quickly disappear from not only Australia but the rest of the world ,and honestly i cannot see that happen ,but time will tell.
  14. Hi to all those on this forum. 1 Llewellyn Toyota Ipswich QLD 2To early to say about the rebuild as the motor has only done 700ks . 3 I think the motor is still a little tight , before the rebuild the rav was averageing 5-6 to 6-1 per 100ks, at the moument it is running at 6-5 per 100ks. 4 Llewellyn's had the rav for 10 days to ensure everything was run as it should and give a sort of run in you might say . 5 My understanding for the rebuild came from consulation with Llewellyn's and Toyota Melb ,i was told the service manager flew down to Melbourne and spoke with Toyota Tech Personel after the consumption test was done and it was a week after that test Toyota Melb authorised Llewellyn's to order the parts from Japan , i was told the only snag that may arise was the head gasket could only be organised once the pistons were installed to find out what thickness was required which men't ordering from Brisbane ,Sydney or Japan . 6 The sythetic oil was changed at the30,000 service from 5w -30 to 5w-40 which did'nt make any difference to the consumpton loss . I truly hope this battle is over i also belive i maywel be the first guinea pig so far i think most Ravs are only at 20,000 - 30,000 klm there can not be to many pushing 60,000 klm i will keep you up dated.
  15. Hi i was on this fourm a few months ago and sat back to see what was developing with my issue of looseing oil since i noticed at 18.000 and kept a eye on the loss of oil, we reached 56,000 klm after looseing 2litres of oil after doing 6,000 klm while on a recent holiday, but my battle goes backa long way and intensified after 30,000 klm ,after doing a consumtion test it revealed there was a loose of oil but where it was going apart from the exhust nobody new or wouldnt say after that nothing was happening so my wife and i went to RACQ for advice and was told to approach the dealership and not the service department, things started to happen quickly after that meeting so at 56,600 klm the motor was pulled out and rebuilt with pistons ,rings and bearings so now its back to the observation on the distick to see if the motor is fixed i will keep you informed welshpomie
