  1. Just did the trip again by myself and got it down to 7.2 I reckon just on 1000km from a full tank on open hwy cruising
  2. It will handle all right with 20's, but it would handle better with 18s in my opinion (15 years in the tyre game). Because the height of you sidewall makes a big difference to how your car will handle. To big and the car rolls around, too small Ans the tyre will break away easier. Either a 245/40 or 245/45/18 will give way better handling then a 20 would. Same reason why a v8 supercar runs approx a 40 to 45 aspect ratio (they are measured in mm not like a normal road tyre) and not super low profile things.
  3. Imo id leave the destiny's on it as the pop right off the car were as the ox sorta blend into too much with the car. Im a massive fan of wheels that pop right out at you and agresive fittments. The bolder the the better. These koya's are the next ones ill get.
  4. Firstly are the aftermarket wheels? If they are i believe you have wheels that also suit 5X115, ie some dodge and Chrysler . These wheel have a bigger nut hole so it will fit both 5x114.3 and 5x115 If so the MUST have a large taper wheel nut or they may come loose. If they are stock toyota, they have a large nut hole anyway and must just the shank style wheel nut.
  5. Ive set the alarm off in my aurion, and i stil no idea how i did it. Plus im a fan of an old trick, a good fashion club lock. Does the trick. But in saying that if they really want your car they are going to get it no matter how good/well hidden your alarm system is. A tilt tray is all they need and she in gone forever. All i can say is say is make sure you have insurance, as **** as that sounds. And option i have thought of is hardwiring a iphone or android phone some where hidden with a find my phone app On it to track the car. My not get it back in one piece but you might get the assholes that stole it.
  6. I may be a bit late with this, but have you hada a look at a Speedy "track" as these would have better finish and be better quality then Either the lexani or Vertini wheels, http://www.speedywheels.com.au/images/wheels/track-lrg.png They also come in a red finish http://www.speedywheels.com.au/images/wheels/track-red-lrg.png
  7. I just got back from a round trip to brisbane and back (2000km round trip from Newcastle) i filled it with mobile 98 and my fuel light turned @ 725 km and i put 55L back in the tank and that works out to be about 7.5l/100km. But that was non stop hwy With 4 people and all there crap in the car, not to shabby for a big car. But normally i get about 600 to 650km per tank with my normal day to day driving and only using moble 98.
  8. I have a question for you. Is the wobble coming thru the steering wheel or thru the whole front of the car.? BecUse you have ruled out wheel balance by dropping it into neutral and it stopped. See a wheel balance will start at the same speed everytime. Because i had an aurion come in my old workshop with the same problem after we fitted new tyres to it. We rebalanced them twice and it didnt solve the problem. So i test drove it and the wobble was coming thru the front of the car (mainly thru the foot well). I told him to take it back to toyota and tell them to replace the drive shafts under warranty and the wobble stopped after they were replaced. I'm 99.9% sure its the drive shafts the other .1% will be something dumb that someone has over looked like a bent wheel or out of round tyre (which either i highly doubt because they both will still be there while the car is out of gear)
  9. i was just out cleaning the car and checking over a few things before. and since i have read a few things about the intermediate shaft knock, i thought i'd give it a shake and make sure it was tight, and it wasn't, it has quite a lot movement in it plus it made the noise while i was jiggling it. now my real question is, is this a known noise/ a recall/ warranty issue , Cause i have the car booked in at toyota to see if they can find the noise. i a really don't want to have to pay it fix it, if it left the factory like that.
  10. Wheel Brand/Design: SSW Wheel size: 18 Wheel width: 9.5 Wheel offset: pos 38 Tire size: 245/40/18 Suspension type: stock as a rock Feedback: i think its perfect fitment all round,
  11. im in the tyre industry so i change my mind about wheels eveytime a new one comes out, so he is a few of my trial's trial fit 1 Wheel Brand/Design: dynamic wheels Wheel size: 17" Wheel width: 9" Wheel offset: 0 Tire size: these rims had 222/55/17 but they look stupid on a 9" rim Suspension type: stock Feedback: too much poke but these rims do come in a pos 30 and will fit nice but the tyres will look funny. trial fit 2 Wheel Brand/Design: kraze (or something like that from japan Wheel size:17" Wheel width:9 Wheel offset: 25 Tire size: trial fit Suspension type: stock Feedback: still a touch too much poke on the front but perfect fitment on the *****. with still 25mm plus clearance between the rim and strut on the back and 30mm plus on the front. I've used both trial fits to see how wide i can go all round and to work out the right offset, and ive settled on CE28 copies made by SSW (not really a copy as SSW own a part or rays and they are made in the some mould using the same materials and process)in a 18X9.5 with a pos 38 offset all round.
  12. hi ive got a 2007 aurion atx, and i have noticed a loud knocking noise coming from the right front strut area, and it knock on just about every bump in the road and its starting to **** me. now its got pedders sports riders fitted (before i got the car) and i have checked things like bolts are tight and link pins are tight. and the are no split bushes has any body eles had anything similar with there aurion and what did it turn out to be
