  1. I have a 2003 Toyota Camry with ~240,000km on the odometer. Front cover is weeping oil, which is typical on these (you know that place where head, block and cover meet). Technically it's not leaking, as there's nothing on the garage floor yet, but the engine is covered in oil all the way to the oil pan. I assume it will require pulling the engine out. Perhaps it can be done with the engine in, but there's a risk of messing it up and then you have to do it all over again. Considering how expansive this repair is, I don't want to risk paying for it twice. It's also a very meticulous job, you have to remove the old sealant, clean the surface without damaging aluminum, degrease without missing a spot and then apply new sealant. It's not uncommon for the bead thickness to be different in certain spots, so you'd have to check the manual for the correct procedure. I just wouldn't trust your average Joe mechanic to do this job. So that said I have a couple questions: Any idea how much it would cost? If it's in the range of $1000-2000, it might be worth it. If it's in the upwards of $5000, then it's just not economical for a 20 years old car. Any recommendation for a specialist Toyota or at least Japanese car mechanic in Melbourne? I used to go to Cromwood Auto, but they've closed since then.
  2. I'd be surprised if it didn't. But no one will give you a guarantee. Ask owner to measure front side of the unit.
  3. That kit, but they all are pretty much the same: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Camry-02-04-FogLights-Fog-Lights-Lamps-Set-NEW-/260876102630 I certainly can. But if harness is already there, I guess it's a good idea to use it, isn't it?
  4. I've bought an aftermarket fog lights kit. Which has a switch, relay, harness and all the rest of it. But when I pulled off the bumper, I found there something, that looks like fog light harnesses. Does anyone know if they can be reused? The question is, where to connect the switch in that case. I've got Haynes manual with all electrical diagrams and wiring. But don't know what to look for.
  5. Sorry mate, already bought 5 spoke 16" ones.
  6. Bought this one brand new. I believe it came off a new hybrid Camry: http://i60.tinypic.com/11i1qvo.jpg Full plug-n-play, no need for harness or even antenna adaptors. Sounds absolutely fantastic!! Guys, don't buy Chinese units, I'm begging you. Old JVC **** goes straight to the bin: http://i61.tinypic.com/28m3ehg.jpg
  7. That's the problem. I don't know if it's the same size or not. Nah, Chinese units are really bad.
  8. So just a heads up for those who come across this topic later on. I bought this set of 16" alloys, which is pretty common on ACV36R. And I like them most. 17" and 18" are cool. But this is a 10 years old Camry after all. Pretty happy with the purchase. And wouldn't mind buying from wreckers again.
  9. I'm looking to replace the head unit on my 2003 Camry Altise. The one I've got now from the previous owner is JVC, which is playing up and look pretty ugly. I don't want to buy Chinese units off of eBay which tend to be pretty bad as well. So I need a genuine one. Now, I heard that Toyota units are pretty much standard across all their models (except for the 2007+ Camry and Aurion). Is that true? Say, what if I go and buy Hilux 2011 unit from wreckers. Will it fit in the Camry? Do I need fascias / adapters or anything like that? The unit itself looks like this. But I'd happy to have any other as long as it's of decent quality, has good sound and usb/aux ports. Need advice.
  10. Ok, so the wreckers option. They sell wrecked cars that were damaged in accidents. Is there a chance I can end up buying warped alloys, which might be unnoticeable at first sight? Has anyone bought wheels from wreckers? What can you say?
  11. I'm after a set of wheels for a 2003 Camry Altise. Preferably these 17". But will consider all offers.
  12. bathuu, what're your wheels? Look really good. Can you tell brand/model/specs?
  13. What's the offset on Gen6,7 Aurion and Camry wheels. Is it +45mm? AFAIK on Gen5 it's +42mm. Does it make any difference?
  14. I will, but the chance is too little. If dealers don't have them now and they are discontinued, it's unlikely they pop out somewhere. The only option I see now is to stalk after the stock Sportivo rims from wreckers.
  15. Guys, I need a set of 16" or preferably 17" alloys for a 2003 Altise. Can't find anything decent. There were Vortex 17" wheels for Sportivo before, but I went to dealership today and they told me it is discontinued. Which is not surprising of course, given its age. What my best bet is? If somebody bought wheels for Gen5 recently, please recommend.
