  1. I started with a 1997 wide body Camry & have had them ever since. In 1998 added a new Honda Odyssey to move grandkids about, only sold it 3 months ago with nearly 500,00kms. Camry is exellent value, inexpensive service (capped price on my 2 newer ones), also insurance is always good pricing. Totally reliable no issues over 20 years of owning several camry models.

These days I always fill with 95 or 98 octane in both my Atara SL's. We live in regional Victoria often making long trips (2 or 4 hours each way) I agree the cars do feel more responsive and yes have tried standard fuel at times but I do get better km's to the litre & performance from higher octane fuel. There once was 100 octane available from a United fuel station in Bendigo and that was really hipo ! I often filled with 100 octane going 950km's to Sydney, My cars loved it. They no longer sell it due to poor sales.

I could not see the link in the same place. i hope these copies of the specs are readable

I found the full model specs in toyota,com.au. Each time I view the new Camry details, Toyota has made changes to many details & pictures. I did print out the 3 pages of all models specs to compare them & it clearly shows SX only with sports suspension & no option to other models. Perhaps the motoring reviewers were told a different story at the release or the specs are inaccurate.

if you peek in the specs only the SX has sports suspension as standard fitment and not optional for SL. I am disappointed the red leather seats are not optional in my choice of the SL grade.
  6. To ensure your car continues to be legally roadworthy the additional LED or any driving lights must be wired via high beam circuit. You can have them operate from an idependant switch but they must only be operational when high beam is selected. I believe this wiring system is applicable nationwide. The light/s must only come on when the main-beam (high beam) headlights are used, and must automatically turn off when the main-beam headlights are turned off. The driving lights may be fitted with an isolator switch to allow high beam to be switched on without the driving lights also being switched on. See below Vicroads note for advice.... the lamp/s must only come on when the main-beam (high beam) headlamps are used, and must automatically turn off when the main-beam headlamps are turned off
  7. The price of a new ISO connector shows as only $12. Wow you must have purchased a real bargain with your head unit being 3 time less than $12 ! Seriously you must be confused about the purchase price of the ISO or your head unit.
  8. Have you attempted to back off the brake shoes via the adjusting slot on the backing plate ?
  9. New Town Toyota are selling new genuine alternators for $235. check with them to ensure those units will fit. I would think an auto electrician would have non genuine alternators cheaper than $235. How about a good 2nd hand unit from a motor recycler (wreckers) ?
  10. Regardless of the style (tongue or hitch) Hayman Reece list 2 totally different part numbers for sedan & wagon. And remember the series will also make a difference. My parts interpreter experience says no the wagon bar will not fit the sedan.
  11. Great job ! Very clear presentation of the mounting position, wiring and results showing improved lighting. Thank you for inspiring me.
  12. Thanks for the info. I never thought of the number plate light mount bracket. Unfortunately your video is not visible to me. Did you bolt the bracket to the bumber bar using nuts from behind the bar or just use self tappers same as the original number plates were screwed on.
  13. rad000, may I ask where / how you mounted the light bar ? I have a 2014 asv50 Atara SL and don't know exactly where to install a light bar. Maybe a 600mm double row would be the ideal one for me. I also have a 2016 Atara SL which has the adaptive radar behind the toyota logo emblem and I think a light bar would interfere with the radar function.
  14. Hi, I used this spoiler from Carmate.com in Villawood NSW. Part Number: TOYCAM12OEMRW. It is low and fitted well to my 2014 Camry Atara SL. I did have a problem with some of the LED's failing, so I swapped out the original ones and replaced them with some from Jaycar. Carmate shows several rear spoilers for your 2010 40 series Camry
  15. Hi, are you able to display the missing photos re your guide  to

I have been so slack and not done mine yet. However there are some excellent youtube demos to be viewed. And after reading the instructions carefully Philips do have very, very good guides in the box. And remember high beam only is a legal conversion in Victoria but not low beam.
  17. I am sure you will be most pleased with the performance and durability of the Hankooks.
  18. I would like to throw in a suggestion of Hankook Optimo K415. Very affordable. comfortable riding, quiet, excellent in the wet and last forever.
  19. Good on you. i look forward to seeing your results. Which vendor did you buy from ?
  20. Your friendly local panel / repair workshop would be able to help by installing lights front or rear
  21. Nope, no wiring. I have a 2014 SL & a 2015 SL no courtesy lights supplied. I questioned Mr. Toyota and there is no satisfactory answer as to why there are none but, they did point out the red fitting does have a built in reflector to warn approaching traffic the door is open ! I intend to purchase some of the LED units from Ebay to fit in and wiring up to both my SL's. I think the lack of working courtesy lighting may be a cost saving issue.
  22. will one of these links help you ?? http://www.tcamanual.com/automatic_door_locking_and_unlocking_systems-62.html http://www.ehow.com/how_5640027_change-door-lock-sequence-toyota.html
  23. I assume all your doors lock when you reach a certain speed ? You can disable this via the via the information touch screen if you have smart entry or by door lock procedure if you have a key start switch. See your owners handbook find vehicle specifications, then sub heading customisation this section tells the story. Please read the entire customisation section for how to do it. Or just get your friendly Toyota dealer to do it.
  24. I also found on my 2014 Sl & 2015 Sl the globe holders were so tight I was afraid of doing damage. I got my Toyota dealer to change my stock globes to Philips White Vision. I asked if they were tight or hard to remove, nope, was the answer. But I know, as you do, you feel like something will crack or break as you turn and they just feel so tight.
  25. Anything you can do or have done is listed in your owners handbook section Vehicle Specifications, sub heading Customisation. But don't be disappointed to find all your needs are not possible.
