Have you ever driven a car with no power steering before? Its hard to say what could be wrong. I would just start a check list and start from wheels to steering wheel and eliminate every moving part. Sorry i cant help.

Just think about doing a timing kit and water pump all at the same time. Cost more to do in one go but saves you alot if you do it seperately. I normally do it when i think my water pump is on its way out about 100000kms to 140000kms is the max ive got from a few different cars.

Well i think your probably on the money with injectors or spark plugs. Check the spark plugs first then leads. Put some injector cleaner in the petrol. Could the car have overheated? Lossing pressure with gasket damage.

No idea, white smoke on start up could be orings? Black smoke is a diesel thing but you would know that. Maybe the mechanic made a mistake. Is the white smoke only on start up or the whole time? Maybe coolant getting in the engine though a warped/cracked head. It's probably easier to try go AWD then to go from fwd to rwd. How did you go did you end up talking to a automotive engineer ? If so what price and what was needed to be done? Maybe a supra axle?

Hello all, My name is Murray i have just recently brought a toyota camry 2005 altise about 2-3 month ago. Ive never owned a toyota before, i have thought to myself why didnt i buy one earlier. I live southern end of the gold coast tweed heads area. Im a bodyboarding with an interest in cars and other things. Since having my camry ive fixed the clock unit, the 12v sockets, changed gear selecter light and parkers to LED`s as well as a minor service. Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone know some or have done. I was thinking if a new model camry or aurion would fit my 2005 camry altise. I know the grille is joined to the hood but a few mods would fix that. Whats your throughts? Will it work? Reason for this is that prevoius owner left marks on rear and front and tried to match the paint which they failed.

Im looking at buying a reversing sensor and camera and a new head unit that i can display the camera when reversing. I would probably be installing myself to save cost or getting a friend to help if i need it. I was looking on ebay for a combo. But im still a few months away from getting it sorted out. But if you found a cheap way let me know. Reason be as my missus is looking at driving it and little ones around the cars as well as i found the side mirrors are **** way to small for the size of the car.

Okay so ive got a 2005 model and it was different to the video above. I took photos of what i did to get it done wasnt to hard and it worked. To open it start from the bottom of the cd area as shown in picture. Then it should pop out slowly pull it out. Then disconnect the clock and speed alert wires. Then undo to phillip head screws to remove from console case. Once removed then remove 6 im not sure what there called hexagon screws i guess Then check all the chips. I had no idea what to look for. Then i noticed these four chips had a brownish tinge to it so i touched them up. Then tested it and worked. Ive never used a soldering iron before it wasnt that hard. Just becareful with the little clips on the clock case as i broke two out of four. Take your time and good luck.

Since you got new leads and spark plugs its probably not them, could be alot of all different things. Fuel pump, filter, injectors, gasket could be any intake to exhust or fuel line even losing pressure. Sorry i cant help but just try to elimate different things it might be. Is the petrol smell coming from the exhaust or engine bay?
