hi, all on the camry forum, as a new member, i have a 2003 camry MCV 36 altise car, which has a remote central locking problem, the car came from a local toyota dealer second -hand,this car came with the one button remote keypad ,last weekend i replaced with a new toyota keypad 89780-YFO11. the new remote keypad was programed correctly, at this point the remote works 100% o.k inside the car, yet when you move outside the car any distance from the car, the remote does not work at all ???. went back to toyota dealers spareparts, we then got another new remote from spareparts dept, same results. our thinking went to what is called the"DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER ASSY DCR RELAY '" which is located somewhere arround the glove box area???. spareparts could not give me parts number on this DCR relay, as all they had on the toyota spareparts computer was a listing for the made in japan part at approx $750 dollars crap, then spareparts talked to the head toyota chief service mechcanic who said the remote not working problem is a fault with the integration circuitboard that is built into the fuse box area inside the middle of the car dashboard area 82641-YCO90 this part comes in at approx $350 dollars... at this stage the toyota mechanics are going for maybe the DCR RELAY, or this integration relay built into fuse box maybe, all up going too cost many mega dollars to fix this remote not working problems. any help welcommed at this stage... also anyone seen this remote problem before. i'am a ex ship marine engineer, and never seen this toyota camry remote not working problem. best regards. simkins.
