Hi all, i recently had a problem with a 2003 camry. Remote lock/unlock worked intermittently. Tried a few tricks from this forum with no success. Then by chance found a procedure in the owners manual to turn on/off the horn beep when locking/ unlocking using the remote or the key in the drivers door. (Page 14.), as follows-- 1. turn headlamps off. 2. cycle ignition switch from lock to on 3 times ( within 5 seconds) leaving it on. 3. "PRO" will appear on multi information display for 5 seconds, press the horn within the five seconds. The turn signal lights will flash once to confirm that the horn beep has been activated. Turn the ignition to lock and test the remote. To disable the horn beeps carry out the same proceedure. In my case i turned the function on. This seems to have fixed the problem.
