I can reach mine with my hand and undo it. Sometimes I do need filter removal tool that fits onto the end of a ratchet. Its easy to do.

I own a 2002 tar ago and I get 550 to 600 city local driving and about 700 to 750 freeway driving.

Filter service kit. Has anyone changed the filter in the auto trans. Is it necessary.

I bought my 02 tar ago 6 years ago and the same thing was happening to me. After several months I realized that you must press on the brake pedal then it will go into gear. Its a safety mechanism.
