  1. Hi all I have another question I have an 04 corolla wagon with 155000kms on the clock looking at its service history cant see the trans fluid ever being changed on the dipstick I think I read it doesn't need to be changed in normal driving conditions or something like that. The colour of the trans fluid doesnt look to bad but I am still thinking of changing it what do other owners think. I know you are meant to use Toyota trans fluid but I will use Castrol transmax for Japanese cars I actually rang Castrol up they assured me it is compatable with Toyota fluid. Also I have heard if you bring it to Toyota they just undo the Trans sump plug which only removes 1/2 the fluid I want to drop the pan and also pump fresh fluid through the convertor by undoing the cooler line and draining it while running the engine. What do you guys think is this overkill or should I just leave it ? Car hasn't got a towbar and was owned by an older lady and shifts fine
  2. Thanks for the replys I will probably just leave it then if its normal for them to rev high on startup.
  3. Hi everyone new to this forum, I recently bought a 2004 Corolla Wagon for my daily driver really like this car the only problem I notice it Revs to over 2000RPM when cold after driving and it warms up it goes to around 800RPM. Even when its warm seems to rev extremely high on startup. Is this the air control valve that needs cleaning any ideas would be helpful. Its an Auto the revs do drop a little after a few seconds to maybe 1800rpm the thing is where I live I cant just sit there waiting for the revs to drop as I start work early I don't like shifting it into gear when its idling high either. Ive read on the internet that intake manifold gaskets leak but this would make it rev high at all times is this correct? Thanks in advance
